I assume you are trying to start the GFDevFSX module with FSX install, I had that error too and it was related to the fact I did not install Acceleration that contains some redistribution packages. Af

  • I think I have every version installed. Issue is probably related to FSX SP1 & SP2 needing to be installed. Acceleration had the updates included.

Go to  Pollypot Software Goflight Interface Tool...... My Goflight gear is working well using that tool.

Do What I did.

Install FSX and don't bother even opening it. You will never need it.

Install the latest GoFlight software and set up all your modules as you did with FSX. Then close the GF Software. You will never need to run this again unless you want to make some changes.

Now create a shortcut on the desktop to your GFDevFSX.exe. Run GFDevFSX.exe then run MSFS 2020 and your GoFlight Modules will light up and work as they did in FSX.

I was blown away when I discovered that they worked. Today I use the add-on linker to automatically open GFDevFSX.exe without a hitch.

Good luck.

It might work with FS9 installed.

You can purchase the FSX Steam version for $5 when on sale.

I have not tried a dummy version. I doubt that it will work.

José, I did read this trick too on the official MSFS forum with plenty of details, but when I do follow those instructions and click on the GFDevFSX.exe, all I am getting is an error message: "The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect".

In the GF config tool on the right I did select Simulator Info >FSX, and on the left the only tab visible is FSX. I saved that cfg and cannot go pass that error message!  Any idea?

If there is no way, all my modules are already programmed with FSUIPC and are functional with MSFS, but they remain dark, no big deal really.

Hope this helps.

Just got a copy of FSX  illinstall  Then try the goflight with MSFS2020

FSUIPC can read Go-Flight buttons and rotaries. You then assign them using FSUPIC Buttons app. Go-Flight's GFDev64.dll must be int he FSUIPC folder.

AxisandOhs will read the buttons but not the rotaries.
