Strange Black Boxes Flickering?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Using P3D V5 with the PMDG 777 and Active Sky ( All latest versions )

I haven't noticed this before, but during today's flight there were some thunderstorms around and while flying i keep seeing these black boxes flash on the screen.

Has anybody else had this? I don't recall seeing anybody mention it. I have EA on, Trying to see if there is a fix or if this is a P3D thing.

Many thanks,

Did you change the graphic driver? There was a version not compatible with P3D recently. The latest should work, at least yesterday I didn't notice a problem with the latest from NVidia.

Did you try to delete the shader cache? Next thing change the driver, back to an older which worked before or if you installed not the latest install the latest.

I have the same thing, running a 3080 with ActiveSky; EA off.  Tried restoring the original lightning texture files with no difference.  Thought it was a missing texture originally.

If you find a fix, I’d definitely be interested.

Didn't work for me. Since it didn't bring me all the promised features for MSFS, I rolled back to 512.95.

Lossless Scaling for all my sims. What a godsend...

Mobile rig: ASUS Zenbook UM425QA (AMD Ryzen 7 5800H APU @3.2 GHz and boost disabled, 1 TB M.2 SSD, 16 GB RAM, Windows 11 Pro). Running FS9 there .

VKB Gladiator NXT Premium Left + GNX THQ as primary controllers. Xbox Series X|S wireless controller as standby/mobile.

I see flashing black boxes now and again in P3Dv4.5HF2, and that has been the case for quite some time. I currently use the 512.15 drivers, but it also happened with my previous drivers (I do not remember which ones they were).

I think that was fixed with 516.94.

Best.
