October 13, 20223 yr Anyone else finding a lack of elevator authority near the stall?, could be my stick calibration since re-installing MSFS a couple of days ago and I havnt had time to try other aircraft Im familiar with yet, will have a play today
October 13, 20223 yr An Update has been released via Orbx Central. Adds the PMS50 GTN750 integration, among other things. T45
October 13, 20223 yr That was announced in the previous update (V1.01) already. Is there another update? Regards Gunter Schneider

October 17, 20223 yr Just curious. How does this compare to some other planes already? I have Kodiak, the GotGravel planes (freeware), the carenado pc12.... I like how they added the pms50 750 7800+4090+64ram Just Flight RJ, 146 and F28, Piper Arrows ---A2A Aerostar and Comanche---Black Square Starship, Duke(s), TBM, Bonanza/BaronV2, KingAir---FSReborn FSR500---COWS Da42---FX P180, HJet & VJet---FlySimWare Chancellor and LearJet---FlightSimStudio EMB175 &P2006T---Fenix 320---PMDG DC6, 737(700+900), 777---C22J---Milviz Cessna 310 & Porter---SimWorksStudios Kodiak, PC12, Zenith & RV14---BigRadials Goose---IndiaFoxEcho MB3339+F35.

That applies to any aircraft, obviously my point was that it seemed more so for the XSTOL in my setup. I cant get the nose up at 60 knots, which is not conducive to a proper flare, I havnt heard anyone else mention it so I guess either its something my end or every one else just dumps it on carrier deck style

I see. I don't own the aircraft yet, as I am away from home, but I will definitely be purchasing it later in the week as this aircraft is right up my street and has favourable reviews. If I find the same issue, I will report back, but until then, there are plenty of YouTube reviews with landings that you could look at to see if the reviewers suffer similar behaviour. One thing I will say is that I have this happen with planes like the JustFlight Arrows and Warrior. On take off, you can get the nose up easily at say 60 knots, due to the elevator authority with the propwash going over the tailplane at full throttle. On landing at similar speeds with the engine at lower RPM, the elevator has much less authority and feels 'mushy' - I sometimes have to raise the RPM temporarily to get the propwash going and get back some elevator authority for the flare, otherwise I just pancake into the ground at full rearward deflection of the yoke. Sounds like a similar characteristic with the XTOL. I think aircraft with a higher approach and landing speed don't suffer from this so much, and neither do the high wings such as the C152 / C172. Yea Ive tried a burst of throttle to try and get some airflow over the elevator but doesnt seem to help, nobody else is chiming in on this so it really looks like something my end (even though all my other aircraft seem to be behaving as they always did) One other odd thing, I noticed looking in external view that elevator movement animation is hugely more in the up range than the down range, most aircraft have a bias of more up than down but this appears exceptional and even more odd considering the lack of actual up elevator authority I experience. On top of the reversed elevator trim tab animation, I get the sense that some work is needed on this release or perhaps my sim is just infested with gremlins

Hopefully these issues will be ironed out over time. As stated earlier, I find the JF Arrows similar to your experience, and not particularly enjoyable to fly, but lots of people have told me I am wrong. Just the usual mix of differing opinions and expectations I suppose. If it is at your end, hopefully you can make it better with a specific controller calibration for that particular aircraft. I have done it for a few. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).
