July 14, 20241 yr Hi @Rocky_53, bumping your old post instead of making a new one. I'm thinking about doing the same you did here getting a 27 or 32 touchscreen and mounting overhead to use with AviaSoft (current use their software of the PMDG FMC and quite pleased). I understand you moved on and got a VRInsight OH panel. Was there a reason for this? Was the touchscreen not effective overhead? I like the idea of being able to use a variety of aircraft and not be limited to a single type which would be the case with a physical panel like the VRInsight. Still, I'm mindful of how the buttons and switches interface with the touch screen. Any feedback or advice? And recommendations on size? Cheers Kael Oswald 9950X3D/ 64GB DDR5 6200 @ CL30 / Custom Water Loop / RTX 5090 / 3 x 48" LG C4 OLEDs

Cheers Hi Kael, the touchscreen I had worked well, but I would highly recommend a monitor size at least 32." Of course the virtual panel doesn't fill the entire monitor due to it's dimensions, so sure, I would recommend as big a monitor a possible. As I say, the software worked well and I was very happy with it, but in no way does it replace a physical OH with switches, annunciators and buttons If it helps, why not check out this video showing my VRInsight panel in detail: HowardMSI Mag B650 Tomahawk MB, Ryzen7-7800X3D CPU@5ghz, Arctic AIO II 360 cooler, Nvidia RTX4090 GPU, 32gb DDR5@6000Mhz, SSD/2Tb+SSD/500Gb+OS, Corsair 1000W PSU, LG Ultragear 48"4K, MFG Crosswinds, TQ6 Throttle, Fulcrum One YokeMy FlightSim YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@skyhigh776
July 16, 20241 yr Thabks mate, i have sern your video above and the product does look good. For me, I'd like to remain 'aircraft flexible' and not limit myself to the 737 overhead. The touchscreen allows virtually anything so I feel that's a reasonable compromise Kael Oswald 9950X3D/ 64GB DDR5 6200 @ CL30 / Custom Water Loop / RTX 5090 / 3 x 48" LG C4 OLEDs

The touchscreen allows virtually anything so I feel that's a reasonable compromise It is a trade off but you can configure the 737 overhead for other planes as well. I have it working and fully functional with the 777 as well. To your point though, there is no way to switch to any plane you want like the touchscreen although that is limited to planes that are supported by the Aviaworks software too... July 16, 20241 yr I also have a bunch of hardware that I "re-purpose" via spad-next. While it's not always ideal flying a 737 with an airbus style fcu, it works. I do the same thing with the MCDU. The whole touch screen thing I never found satisfying due to the missing tactile feedback. 5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW and 2 22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU, 360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next

Got it for about £350. You'll find that touchscreens are very expensive new, especially larger units. I'm mostly flying the 737, 777 and Fenix A320. I'll star at the 737 overhead and consider how many of those switches can be repurposed.
