Something w/ load/balance of a previous start that causes the bouncing and is being recalled on startup. Renaming the acf dir forces a fresh start because it isn't saved in the .prf. January 4, 20233 yr 2nd XP12 flight test about to complete, new throttle stuff seems to be working well, voice command stuff is pretty handy, approach and glideslope AP still need work, think next weekend I'll give the new ND stuff for XP12 some loving AutoATC Developer
March 5, 20233 yr so, the plan is to ask everyone to "retest everything" soon, likely next weekend, with a view to getting an idea what the current state is, I'll probably use XP12 time this coming week to flight test before that. Dont have any known flight critical issues now, started moving on to ironing out things like: AutoATC Developer
March 21, 20233 yr There's a freighter model now? Color me interested! What about VNAV and the autothrottle PID controllers for anything but the default PW (or GE?) engines? 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days

March 22, 20233 yr Out of curiosity, how have you programmed descents? - The classic way, in idle or... - the NG way using off idle? There are a few threads about it, and the NG manual is free from the Aerowinx site, but a recent thread is certainly interesting to read... NG FMC Descent Profile (aerowinx.com) Edited March 22, 20233 yr by jcomm Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
March 22, 20233 yr 17 minutes ago, jcomm said: how have you programmed descents? well, the true key to that question is how it calculates top of descent, which is a much more complicated question to answer than it sounds, because its not even clear which altitude to calculate ToD for - e.g. the one entered in the FMC, the altitude you are at now, the altitude you will be at when you hit the descent profile..right now, iirc it begins descent 400 feet above the expected idle descent path. what I found is end of the day, the profile itself isnt hugely important, because it will need widely different thrust/drag doing the same flight over and over due to a whole range of other factors, like wind speed/direction & pressure changes, exactly how accurately you recreate the flight or what version of the VS flight directors you are using.
