Envplus is released

Whelp I’m having a tough time with TOGA projects.  Everytime I inject textures/shaders with Envdir it completely messed up my addons.cfg and I have to reactivate all of my installed addons.  I have posted about this on their forum but haven’t gotten any help. There are others who also posted about the same issue. Has anyone else encountered this and been able to resolve this issue?  Really annoying as I can’t tweak Envplus to my liking because it messes my sim up every time.

I experience the same thing. It completely messed up my sky, I am reinstalling my sim, because, honestly, lately everything bugs it. I was happy to find solution of the DXGI hing error here. Happy to know I am not the only one.

That's odd...I just made a couple shader tweaks with Envshade, and wrote it out to the sim, and neither add-ons.cfg file (one in ProgramData, the other in AppData\Roaming) was touched in the process.

What you could do is take a snapshot of your config with Lorby-SI P3D Addon Organizer using the one-click backup tool, and then restore that backup after running Envdir--that'll restore your add-ons.cfg and other config files to what you had before Envdir ran.  I don't see any entries in the add-ons.cfg files that pertain to Envshade/tex/plus anyway.

It does have me wondering a bit--I run the TOGA apps from a remote PC, and the docs say that the Program Files and AppData folders need to be shared on the server PC, but there is no setting in the application to point the apps to the networked location of those folders...so now I wonder if some of the needed file changes aren't being made...

Well, on a hunch I went to the AppData\Roaming folder on my remote client PC (there's no sim installed on it), and found a Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5 folder that was apparently added by EnvDir (on the wrong machine)...it had an add-ons.cfg file with a couple entries for Envtex and Envsound (which I don't have installed), a Prepar3D.cfg file with Affinity Mask entries (where in $%^# did I give permission to this program to go in and screw with my affinity mask??!!), a UISettings.xml file, and a VolumetricClouds.cfg file.  So the bugged EnvDir is writing to my shader files in P3D on the server machine, but trying to write to config files that don't exist on the remote client machine where Envdir is running.

Good grief...

Bob, good call on utilizing LORBY to make a backup.  I will do that now.  I do have a ENVTEX entry in my addons.cfg file which I believe is supposed to be there and has something to do with the Northern Lights feature in ENVTEX.

@PavlinS sorry that you are having issues as well.

@kmax59 Maxime I'm adding you here even though I don't believe you check AVSIM very often but I am not getting responses on the TOGO forum and apparently TOGA is causing various issues for multiple people.

An Envtex entry will be added to your add-ons.cfg automatically by P3D when it finds the ENVTEX folder in C:\documents\Prepar3D v5 Add-ons\, so no worries even if you accidentally restore an add-ons.cfg file without the entry in there.  P3D will (properly) add it back in for you, and without boogering-up your entire scenery config like Envdir seems wont to do.  It'd sure be a whole lot easier if Envdir just put the Envtex folder into place and let P3D make the config change.

This is a pretty sloppy mess...I had thought TOGA to be better than this.

I see you've posted on the TOGA forum as well.  Thanks for doing that.  Fingers crossed we'll get a response.

High quality gives more performance trouble, or at least for me.

Unfortunately it appears as if  Maxime ( @kmax59 ) has 'gone to ground', yet again.  😡

Not active here or indeed on the TOGA forum for a while now.

Not Good !!

I believe what this addon needs is configuration sharing or settings profiles. There are so many options that a person doesn't know what to do, especially when it comes to EnvShade settings.

Hi there,

We are aware that some of you are getting this issue but we never been able to reproduce it, so there could be one single specific add-on in the list that conflicts.
Could you guys send us your addons config file so we can crosscheck that? Hopefully this will allow us to reproduce the issue.

Thanks Okupton for telling me, I'm not checking avsim regularly indeed, but this jumped to my eyes thanks to your post 🙂

No I have not "gone to ground again". We're just a small development team with 2 guys that are preparing a new update in the background, allowing less time for support.

Everything is explained in the user manual 😉
Also don't forget that Envshade and Envplus comes with a good base already, no need to tweak further if you're satisfied witht the base settings. If you need to tweak further then have a look at the user manual, it should explain everything you need

Thanks for your response.  Where should we send the addons.cfg for those of us having the addon library issue?
