January 10, 20233 yr Awesome shots! I picked it up and still need to do some test flights to get an idea of the flight model. Quick question, how heavy were you on the approach? Rick D http://g5flyer.tumblr.com/

Once I make any adjustments to the flight model, I will pass it to you. Rick D http://g5flyer.tumblr.com/
January 11, 20233 yr Terrific shots PM! I remember the first time one rolled into the hangar. I just stood there under the belly marveling at just exactly how huge these jets are. Jack Sawyer

I just stood there under the belly marveling at just exactly how huge these jets are. Every time I did the final walk around on the DC-10-30 and looking up at the giant, I felt like a kid with a new toy every time. With the compressed flight deck, you forget about the rest of the jet behind you. When opening the flight deck door to hit the crew lav, you realized just how big the jet is as you looked down aisles. Sometimes when at medium weights, when at 20 degrees nose high at V2 + 10 the flimsy flight deck door would pop open. Early on, you would look over your shoulder at the noise and see the pax and large interior. When you exit the FWD entry doors and look aft, just amazing. That big sexy will always be my first love😁. The fuel burn will go through the roof when the stabilizer is not near a streamlined position. The stab and displaced elevator creates a lot of drag when out of position. The plane pretty much flies the trim like other aircraft and minimizes elevator displacement. Edited January 11, 20233 yr by G550flyer Rick D http://g5flyer.tumblr.com/
