January 15, 20233 yr I am having my doubts about the positional accuracy and hence the location geographically of some navaids in some countries. Anybody else noticed this?
January 15, 20233 yr Commercial Member Could you give specifics? I know LR use a known database for navaid positoning, so if it's off in X-Plane, it's off in the global, real world, database.
January 15, 20233 yr Author Ok I am in the process of rechecking a few of these again. I have been getting some strange XP12 behaviour at the same time. The system forgets or does not respond to the key and joystick bindings correctly like they have not been set. The only way I can get them back is to revert to default, recalibrate then allocated all the buttons and key commands I want again. The altimeter was also behaving strangely when I noted the mis-location (or so it appeared of the YMML VOR 114.10 it appeared to sit at the end of the runway and the bearings were some 30 degrees out for the distance I was changing the radial) it was about 5 mb out and lagging in changing altitude when reset. Probably completely different problem. But I do get these weird anomalies with XP12 from time to time. - not sure why is a mystery at the moment.

Make sure the aircraft you're using has the correct input profile assigned. The only times I encountered loss of input control was when using Avitab and forgetting to release keyboard focus after typing something into one of its search boxes. 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days
January 15, 20233 yr Author Thanks yes I will look at the AVITAB thing as well. Sometimes I suspect it is not XP at al but MS and Windows 10 has a habit of forgetting or not doing things!
January 16, 20233 yr Author Sorted out the culprit - it is the FLYWITHLUA plug in. Even though there are no scripts (supposedly) loaded the plugin plays havoc (I am sure I had the latest version as well) with dual radio setups and the internal XP12 ATC-RDO menu box. It played havoc with external lights on laminar and addon aircraft alike. Now I have removed it completely all systems have returned to normal. I only had one model that wanted LUA so it stays out until I can find a reason and an XP12 compatible version to use it again. Wasted a day on this!

I used it sometime ago and didn't notice any problems. January 16, 20233 yr Author Well it was the last resort to remove it (advice about XP12 problems in the XP12 Forum at XPlane.org. They were correct. Removing LUA fixed my light problems on the default aircraft and removed the radionavaid problem with non default aircraft - all three which I tried were XP11 port overs to Xp12 so maybe the developers missed something I cannot say. Don't know enough about LUA or XP at the moment to do anything else.
January 16, 20233 yr I find that really hard to believe. FlyWithLua without scripts does not interfere with anything in the simulator because no script is telling it to interfere. 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days
January 16, 20233 yr Author So everyone tells me - I will try again with the latest download see what happens. (Read the manual helps!). Seriously that is what occurred and I have no idea why this would be so! Soon as I put LUA into the sim plugins - weird stuff happened with my sim installation. Well I redid the LUA installation - following the instructions scrupulously- now it does what it should or should I say does not appear to interfere with things! One of lifes mysteries I guess!
