How do I get rid of the oversized white boxes MSFS World Map

Recommended Posts

I seem to remember the full white has a transparent setting, but, I haven't found it. I need to see underneath the white box.

Thanks,

Ray

Hi Ray, There are some font settings in the Accessibility section of the General options menu - might work??  Hope it helps.

I'm still looking for the secret for getting rid of the boxes or changing the transparancy.

Under accessibility options there is an "Interface size" slider. That might be it.

Might want to give this a try: https://flightsim.to/file/22352/ms-fs-2020-modern-ui-2-0

I have it installed and I like it.

Thanks Jim for the suggestion, but, there are just too many unknowns in this UI rewrite.  All I want to do is see behind the big white boxes.

Ray

I'm with you Ray. I find the huge white boxes extremely annoying and unnecessary. I haven't found a solution yet.

Yeah. There are quite a few "UI" issues which are annoying and not terribly friendly.

For example, I wanted the tooltips in the cockpit to be much smaller than they are... well, that is directly tied to the overall size of the UI globally. So, I have had to reduce the UI size to 50% to get the size I want for the tooltips in the cockpit. Now, of course, my main UI is much smaller than I want it to be, but the size of the tooltips in the cockpit are more important to me.

Those two elements should not be tied together under one setting.

It is good to hear from you, old friend.  I hope life is treating you well today.

Actually the Wingman UI is very nice. Been using it since it came out.

Does that UI require an update from time-to-time as the sim itself gets updated?  Or has it worked pretty well no matter the SU7,8,9,10,11 being run over time?

Does anyone remember when the ugly white boxes first appeared?  SU7? maybe earlier.

Ray

You don't have to select a runway. If you zoom way in, you can select one of the gates or ramps on the outskirts of the airport, and the white box moves out there...

As best I recall, they have been there since day 1.
