February 25, 20233 yr Hi, recently watched a new video from 737NG Driver as to how and when to deploy flaps in both the 737 and A320 prior to landing - a great video. One of his recommendations is to draw rings around the arrival runway threshold at distances of 5 miles and 10 miles. I have no problem achieving this with the PMDG 737 but cannot fathom out how to do it in the Fenix A320. This is what happened to me just now. I loaded a flightplan from Simbrief into the Fenix A320 (EGKK - EGPH). Wanted to try the 'fix' around both departure and arrival runway thresholds i.e. draw rings at both 5 & 10 miles at both airports. Selected EGKK and the option of Fix Info came om the MCDU - entered RW08R (as I would do in the PMDG 737) and got a response of 'not in database'. So, selected EGPH and no option for fix info appeared. I am sure there is a simple solution - any and all help appreciated. Edited February 25, 20233 yr by SquadronLeader George Westwell
February 25, 20233 yr Exactly as polosim says - you need an identifier otherwise it won't know where to draw the fix from. Rob Jones.

And as explained above, you have to enter an identifier (for example EGPH or an enroute fix). cheers, NiIs U.AMD 5800X3D | 32GB DDR4 RAM @ 3200MHz | RTX 4070 12GB @ 1920x1050px
February 25, 20233 yr Just for your information, in the Airbus you usually only do the 3-times-TOD ring. The 5 mile and 10 mile ring in the 737 are used for knowing when to extend flaps 1-5 and flaps 15/gear down accordingly. The airbus however uses other procedures: flaps 1 just before intercepting glideslope (FAF), flaps 2 when at 2000 feet RA, gear down directly after flaps 2 are fully extended, flaps 3 or flaps full when speed is down to F speed. Now you can do whatever you want obviously, but in the A320 the fix page is not really adapted for multiple range rings, because while in the 737 you can enter 3 rings on one fix page, in the A320 you can only enter one ring per page - and you only have 4 pages overall. So it's annoying and the fix pages could be needed for something else (like marking the clearance limit waypoint or the missed approach fix etc.). For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.
February 25, 20233 yr In the PMDG Fix, you only have to enter the runway number, as long as the destination is in the FMC. example RW18L. Then /5 and /10 will give you a 5 and 10 mile circle starting at the threshold of runway 18L
