August 31, 200718 yr No - US Airways has been changing too much too fast for anyone to do a good package since the merger with America West.Heck, a new paint scheme for a special aircraft was introduced this week.I'm sure it's on their list of airlines to do.
August 31, 200718 yr Wow, US Air merged with Amwest????!I'll have to check up on that, see which corporate name they will operate under, etc...RhettAMD 3700+ (@2585 mhz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (Guru3D 93.71), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2gb Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8 (1T), WD 150 gig 10000rpm Raptor, WD 250gig 7200rpm SATA2, Seagate 120gb 5400 rpm external HD, CoolerMaster Praetorian Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
August 31, 200718 yr Author yes ... two years ago ...actually it is more of an america west bought us air and the US airways name is now used -After the merger America West would own 45% of the new airline, new equity partners would own 41% and 14% would go to US Airways, assuming a total source: http://www.allbusiness.com/operations/ship...-2974554-429830see also -http://www.airportbusiness.com/article/art...ction=3&id=2082-- D. August 31, 200718 yr Yea, I got screwed on one of the USAir flights earlier this year because the week I had to fly for work, USAir had just switched over to the America West computer system and everything was crashing; according to the gate attendant anyway. Then my return flight was completely canceled which had never happened to me before, in all my years of being a USAir customer. I honestly think the malformed, merged, computer system lost our flight/aircraft.I too would like both a good USAir/AmWest package, as well as a full USAir Express package. There's too many airports served by these packages on the US East coast not to be up to date (last year or so). Regards, Al Jordan | KCAE
August 31, 200718 yr Author i agree that us air/america west (now US airways) isn't as good an airlines as either was prior to the merger.i was a america west flyer for 90% of my flights be 1990-2006. after the merger i've seen the following -* poorer customer service at check-in (if needing to check baggage otherwise i'm internet check-in and carry-on), gate control and in-cabin.* INCREASE in flight costs (this was before the fuel cost jumps of ~1 year ago)* DECREASE in my frequent flyer benefits.businesses change ... and so does the customer by changing with whom one spends his/her money.-- D. August 31, 200718 yr If you think this outfit is a mess to fly on, you should work for them. I do! 10 years,4 months, 20 days, until I can retire. But who's counting?
September 1, 200718 yr Author mike w.:i hope you are able to retire! ;-)it seems that airlines, like many other business these days, exist only for governing boards to cut employee pay/benefits and then toss the 'savings' into a bonus check for the CEO ... followed by a golden parachute.the thing making this worse are -a) customers nor investors don't respond with outrage:( US gov't that does nothing in the laws to stop this carpetbagger behavior-- D.
