The little known B-32..

Featured Replies

The B-32, as good as it appears to have been, simply arrived too late to be anything more than a footnote in WW II aviation history.  The same can be said of the Goodyear F2G Super Corsair.

The AAF should not have scrapped ALL of the B-32s!  That was criminal stupidity. At least a dozen or two should have been "sold" to museums. 😱

That would have been nice and far more Axis aircraft should have been preserved as well.  But, after a truly global war, the victors were not interested in preservation, but in returning to peace.

The B-32 still lives in FSX.  I wish someone would convert it to work in P3d.

The tires are worn.  The shocks are shot.  The steering is wobbly.  But the engine still runs fine.

I have a book called Air Force by Martin Caidin, written in the late 50's.

It has a nice picture of a B-32 Dominator refuelling in the Pacific in '45.   It's my opinion that the B-32 would have developed into a great bomber, but events passed it by.   It was a more-elegant cross between a B-29 and a PB4Y Privateer.
