Leonardo Maddog MD83/88 Expansion Coming Tomorrow

Recommended Posts

And free if you bought it in P3D, a pleasant surprise:

https://www.flythemaddog.com/forum/index.php?%2Ftopic%2F14573-tomorrow-new-installers-and-md-83-88-expansion-release-for-msfs2020%2F&fbclid=IwAR32jaYszmyv7VTas9kjpUd68NHXJawJDtcEjChhkqbrwlUGI2OPzMRwpjc

Parch coming for the MD-82 as well.  I wonder if the FTSim soundpack will work on all variants?

I cannot believe this is free for previous P3d purchases.

Hopefully they will build the 83SF after the expansion pack is released.

Yes that would be amazing!

This is exciting news. I was hoping the MD-88 would come to 2020. Can't wait to fire up the Delta livery in a true MD-88.

That was my thought too…overall cost is becoming more reasonable now.

I guess the question is, is it now even more unreasonable for those that want both variants and don't own the P3D variant?

This depends on the price of the expansion, I guess. If it's about 20€ like it was for P3D, it's overall 110€ for 3 variants, which is significantly cheaper than 3 variants of the 737.

I don't think that's a fair way to look at it, the -800 comes with.. was it 4-5 variants?

I have it working now with my beta version of the 80s. This is what you will have to do until FTSim is updated.

Go into the PDF and find the manual update of the layout.json file.

{
"path": "SimObjects/Airplanes/MaddogX/sound/MD80_Sp.PC.pck",
"size": 140886287,
"date": 133027422380000000
},

You will have to add two more of these. The two extras will have the directory to match each aircraft. So a entry for /MaddogX83/ and /MaddogX88/. Once done, you will have three entries all together. /MaddogX/, /MaddogX83/ and MaddogX88.

Well to break this further down - all the -800 variants are the same airplane (flight dynamics, size, engines etc.) just with different layouts. The -83 and -88 on the other hand are different aircraft models, like the -900 is a different model from the -800.
I get what you mean, though.

at 90 for FS2020 market, paying for an extension is a bit much for me ... i understand that it's work and need to be paid, but with also some aspects of the product lacking like textures and sounds, even tho i don't really care about sounds as i'm not a cabin/exterior views enjoyer, and even with lowres textures, the cockpit ambience is still super nice, i can understand ppl looking for it.

With the 88 being the official version to come with "efis cockpit" it would be nice to have an option on the 82 for the analogue panel then.
