787 External Power doesn't Engage when Available

Featured Replies

Today I was going to fly the 787 from YSSY to VIDP and sudenly I had this problem on the ground. I clicked several times on the Ext. Power "Available" button but nothing happened. I connected the GPU and nothing changed. I searched for information of how to solve this problem but I didn't found any. Maybe is a Heavy Division related problem?

If anyone had this same problem, please let me know how did you solved it.

Regards!

I don't use the 787 in MSFS as I fly the thing in real life and don't want to spend my time at home replicating work, so I have no answer to this.

As complete trivia however I will say however that it's very rare to see the aft external power connected, unless the APU is unserviceable. In that instance unless you have all three external power units connected for engine start you get massive load shedding when the starter generators are energized.

Also, I don't know why the hydraulic panel is missing the 'OFF-AUTO-ON' annotation for the DEMAND hydraulic switches? They should have the same depiction as the C1 and C2 pumps.

Hi mate.

I have just departed YMML and not had that issue.  I did remove all the heavy division mods etc as recommended since the latest avionics update.

Maybe try that and see how you go.

But you are spending your time on avsim forums reading threads about 787s 🤪

Remove the heavy division mod and any other mods that might impact the 787. You don't need the mod anymore, the default plane has been massively upgraded.

Guys I found the solution, it was the Heavy Division mod.  But now how can I refuel my plane if there's not any Simbrief option?

Just use the fuel panel from the toolbar within MSFS.

Is there any more realistic freeware way to refuel my aircraft?

If you have the Flow Pro addon then there is a script someone has made that will adjust the fuel/weight via the Simbrief OFP. (https://flightsim.to/file/54450/atr-simbrief-loader) that works on the 787.

But apart from that I'm not aware of any others. They are adding official simbrief support soon though which may do this.
