EGSG over EGSS to EG83 in a Gipsy Moth - part 3, EG83

Featured Replies

Last part of my little trip in the Gipsy Moth. Just a few miles east of Stansted is EG83, Rayne Hall Farm airfield, another little gem from Vortex and available on .to ( https://flightsim.to/file/56315/rayne-hall-farm-airfield-eg83)

Here we are heading in

Doesn't look like anything special, does it?

But let's take a look around

Allo, allo, what's going on 'ere then squire?

Odd little scenario to include in a scenery like this. I'll explain my own theory at the end

Somebody's keeping well out of the way of all that

Lovely detailing,as with all these Vortex airfields

And still the confrontation continues -

So, no idea what is actually happening here, but I have a theory. This is a small strip in Essex, quite handy for a quick hop over to the Netherlands or France. And there is an element of, shall we save, entrepreneurial activity amongst some of the Essex population that might be willing to take advantage of the lack of Customs and Excise facilities at the likes of Rayne Hall Farm. Now, plod is not armed and jacketed up, so I'm guessing serious substances aren't involved, but maybe our friend here has just arrived with a hold full of tobacco or ciggies and is busy trying to explain how somebody must have snuck on to the strip at Le Touquet or wherever and accidentally loaded their contraband on to the wrong plane (unbeknown to him, of course).

Ah, the things you find in this sim!

(yeah, I know there's probably a more rational explanation but I like mine. He just looks shady)

Haha yes I buy your story!

Wow isn't that an amazing little scenery. I also enjoy these quirky ones, made with loving attention.

Great tour in the Gipsy, thanks for the ride.

The closer you look, the better it gets!

So peaceful, wish I could just enter the screen and literally be there.

I like these peaceful strips no matter where they are.

So much detail you have shown here and they even have geese in this scenery.

I was thinking the man had miswotsited one of the goats, using the wrong pro thingo but there would have been maybe 5 police cars had he done that with a load of plod tooled up!

Cheers John, and it really does. I'm amazed at the level and quality of the detail, and the figures are mostly animated as well.

That's pretty much how I feel about these little strips Jack. And the beauty of my big 4k HDR screen setup is that I almost do feel like I'm there when the scenery is this good.

Cheers Martyn, and I hadn't even though of goat-bothering - I guess that's because I'm a city boy by upbringing!
