August 3, 20232 yr OK, I've been around for quite a while, so I feel a little embarrassed at having to ask this ... I've kinda let it go over the years and not bothered so much with it, but now I take my simming in the 738 more seriously, I think it's about time I got to the biottom of things. For the life of me I can never get the times in the real world (GMT) to match the time in the FMC of the PMDG 738. So effectively what I do, is match the time in the real world (GMT) to the time in the sim, but even if I set it UTC it never matches what is displayed in the FMC, even after setting the chronometer/clock on the MIP. I did read that there is a bug that creates this anomoly, but not sure. Can anyone expand on this, thanks. I am pretty sure we all go thru life just puttering along and occasionally we actually stop and look at the roses, and have to say to ourselves "Wait just a minute? How does this work?? August 3, 20232 yr If the problem is PC time being off then this will solve that. Windows never set my PC time correctly. But this does, down to 1/100 of a second. Dimension4 (freeware). I have the boxes ticked for Dimension4 to set the PC clock every time the PC computer is booted up. Now if I go to any online Time webpage, that clock on the website display matches my PC time shown in the windows taskbar. Before, it always off by a whole lot of seconds. Now, it never is off by even 1 second. https://www.thewindowsclub.com/free-time-synchronization-software-windows http://www.thinkman.com/dimension4/ 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. August 3, 20232 yr I think there’s some confusion here. If you’re using the FMC, hit LEGS and then RTE DATA, the times next to the waypoints should display the arrival time to that waypoint in UTC. These times have no bearing on your arrival airport. If you were flying MAN/LHR for example and you took off at 13:00 UTC, the arrival time next to BNN would be around 13:25, and that’s the time you should be shown. Are you saying your times are completely incorrect? FWIW, I’ve never had that issue with the PMDG and you might be best off asking on their forums or submitting a support ticket, but I just want to clarify what your issue actually is as the above doesn’t read right to me.

Well yes, that was my understadning of things, sure, the times are completely different to the sim time or the time set on the chronometer. Sometimes I have seen a discrepency of a couple of hours! I think what I'll do is go on a flight soon and report back Edited August 3, 20232 yr by Rockliffe HowardMSI Mag B650 Tomahawk MB, Ryzen7-7800X3D CPU@5ghz, Arctic AIO II 360 cooler, Nvidia RTX4090 GPU, 32gb DDR5@6000Mhz, SSD/2Tb+SSD/500Gb+OS, Corsair 1000W PSU, LG Ultragear 48"4K, MFG Crosswinds, TQ6 Throttle, Fulcrum One YokeMy FlightSim YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@skyhigh776
August 3, 20232 yr Author Yup, as I thought. I'm not imagining things. I've just set up a flight, set the time in MSFS on the weather page to current GMT real world time ie. 22.35, set the appropriate take off time in Simbrief flight plan to 22.50 for the sake of a test, then jumped into the 738, set the chronometer/clock on the MIP to the same as the MSFS time, loaded the flight plan and went to route data to see a two hour difference for the ETA arrival at the waypoints! Go figure! I then went to the MSFS weather page and changed the time to UTC, which was a difference of one hour, jumped back into the 738, reset the clock to the same and noted the route data had changed to a four hour difference!!! I'm sure there is an explanation to this, but for the life of me I have no idea what it is. I'm sure it's likely to be finger trouble at my end, but I really would like to get it sorted. August 3, 20232 yr A peculiar issue and one of I’ve not heard of. Just to cover all bases, when you say you’re setting real world time, are you dragging the sliders to match it or are using the real world time toggle? I always use the toggle and let the sim sort it. Unfortunately, my suggestion(s) end there.
