Lots of folk go on about it being a "flight" simulator rather than a scenery simulator. I'm not interested in pretending to fly the things, but I am interested in the aircraft themselves. Being able to get hold of extremely well (visually) modelled aircraft at such reasonable prices seems like a wonderful thing to me. I've bought loads of aircraft I'll probably only "fly" a few times, but I will explore them in various locations a lot more often. You'd pay more than the cost of one of these to get in to most actual exhibitions, and they wouldn't let you fly the real ones at all. And I haven't looked at such things for probably 30 years or more now but I suspect even the most basic model aircraft kit costs more than these.
