August 24, 20232 yr Funny how they still add flying boats to a sim with still no water physics... sometimes I do wonder about priorities over at Asobo... Greetings, Chris AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, 2x32GB DDR5 6000MT/s RAM, MSI RTX 4090 Ventus 3X, Windows 11 Home, MSFS2024

August 24, 20232 yr Really confusing. While the Tante Ju had plenty of charisma these Microsoft Planes are getting more and more boring. Along with each new plane I would expect at least one unique new feature based on the SDK to showcase how 3rd Parties can implement.

Yes I am struck by this too. There is a fluff dimension in the MSFS marketing strategy difficult to deny and my guess is that Asobo has not much to do with it. MS rules here. Funny and sad as reasonably good water physics would be a great move to advance the sim. August 24, 20232 yr These are all good points - yes it's another flying boat, yes it has more engines than can actually be controlled in the sim and yes, the water physics make the whole affair only questionably plausible. But I think the real underlying problem and cause of all this negativity is that subconsciously we are being affected by YET THE SAME OLD OVERLY DRAMATIC ORCHESTRAL MUSIC PASSAGE used in the release video! ENOUGH, I SAY! It seems to be a perfectly wunderbar aircraft when experienced in the proper musical context! Fortunately that is easily corrected: Edited August 24, 20232 yr by Stoopy "That's what" - She

Any idea? They did say they had increased the engine count for the sim recently (it needed it for the Antonov and the Hughes Spruce Goose anyway). I take it they all just move against one throttle lever at the moment, or maybe you can set it per side if you have two hardware throttles. I understand what people are saying about this, but due to its size and amount of engines, it does intrigue me. If anything, maybe we could have done without the previous Dornier flying boat. But hey! They are both only £8.36 in the marketplace for us Deluxe / Ultimate users. I paid more than that for a burger last weekend! Good thing is that it put back in my mind Garrison Keilllor’s old radio show…. August 24, 20232 yr I like the DO, very impressive airplane. Fortunately some well known cities after the last City Updates. Köln-Bonn - too late for such an important and popular airport. August 24, 20232 yr Well no one is forced to buy it. Apart from not being able to assign a Throttle Axis to each engine above no. 4, I have no problem with Asobo releasing these kind of Aircraft. Or do people rather want another Cessna or Piper GA ? System: i7-10700K, 32GB RAM, RTX4070 12GB, 1 x 1TB SSD, 2 x 2TB SSD, 1x 2TB HDD, Win10 64bit Home, Meta Quest 3

No, but rather than another Dornier flying boat (not sure if you are aware of the previous one they put in the marketplace), if it has to be German to tie-in to go with the regional updates, there are some far more interesting aircraft, such as the VFW-614, or the Dornier 228. It the end though, the main man decides! For £8, I will probably give it a go anyway. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).
