No turbulence in flight

Recommended Posts

Hello everybody,

I don't understand why in the game I never have turbulence in a cruise flight I just took an Ajacacio Brest flight normally I should have had turbulence I looked on the Navigraph application I was passing through yellow zones see red during my flight and in fact I had 0 turbulence the plane does not move the camera remains fixed as if on rails although I have put realistic turbulence in the MSFS parameters...

Is there at least one camera setting to make movements a little more amplified like in the days of P3D with EZDOK?

I agree with you. The turbulence effects seem mostly gone in MSFS now. I tried RealTurb Global Cat turbulence, but I did not notice any effect. I dont think this addon works on MSFS any longer.

Any suggestions how to increase turbulence effects are welcome

Remember about 6 months or so ago when tons of people were flooding the forums complaining that turbulence was way too strong?

I'm guessing this is the result.

You are positive you have set turbulence to "realistic" in the assistance settings?

Also keep in mind MSFS IIRC turbulences are not real-life-injected but instead created by internal parameters, which could very well mean turbulence differs from real life. E.g. there are no clear air or cloud turbulences in MSFS (which is a pity, especially cloud turbulences are fundamental for a flight sim...) and on the other hand terrain-induced turbulences (like mountain waves) are generally too strong.

Only turbulent effects I get are from FS Realistic, and even that has been acting pretty wonky lately after SU13.

Guess you guys are all flying big jets. I mostly fly GA and get turbulence when going into clouds and also when there are no clouds. Yesterday I was flying the Carenado Archer and got sudden clear air turbulence at 7000ft that almost made me lose control of the plane. The other day with the Comanche I went into a thunderstorm and also got lots of turbulence. Try some GA sometimes.

I know for a fact there are no cloud turbulences or CAT in MSFS. Since as GA you fly at much lower altitudes than airliners, what you experienced are exaggerated terrain turbulence effects (which happened to happen while you were in the clouds).

Sure you do, lol. Yesterday I was flying over the ocean, not over terrain, when that happened.

Edit: Just finished another flight in the Bahamas in the Carenado Mooney and again when I entered clouds with rain (over the water) I got lots of turbulence.

Was that using "real weather" as Asobo calls it? I feel every part of "real weather" has been toned down to next to nothing. Even clouds are not volumetric anymore - or nothing like they were at release. Just blobs of semi-transparent fog like puffs scattered about. As you get close and go "into" said "clouds" you can still see around you stuff outside such as ground, or sky, stars etc. usually at least one way. You're never really "inside" of a cloud anymore. Not sure when they changed this but it's really concerning and not as real as it gets at all. They gradually turned this into a glorified Bing map simulator.

Quite some time ago, they reduced the cloud density parameter in Live Weather - presumably for performance reasons. You can still get far more realistic-looking clouds and in-cloud effects by using manual weather, where you can set the density parameter.

Yes, I just fly with live weather. And the clouds have been much better lately than a couple weeks ago. I entered the clouds and couldn't see anything around. This was in the Bahamas. I'm starting to wonder if they changed something.

As for the density of the clouds, I don't really know, I forgot to specify that I am still flying with the live weather forecast yesterday, I had beautiful convective clouds.

So when I got inside, I had 0 visibility, however the same, I always fly with the Fenix 320 and never any turbulence, I can have some from time to time when approaching the ground...

Before yes with the relief of the mountains, there was even (much too much), they changed it and it's not any worse, I knew that when I flew over the Pyrenees for example or the Alps, I was going to have turbulence ). But now, I find the flight much too smooth and for Fiorentoni yes, I have the turbulence on realistic in the MSFS parameters.

I hesitated to add FS Realistic, but I don't want to go back to a gas factory like before in the days of P3D where I had to have 30 addons with millimeter settings, even EZDOK, I found it boring to adjust, but it was effective, because we felt the turbulence... I think there is also a small problem with adjusting the sensitivity of the camera apart from the turbulence effects which are practically nil.

In short, I hope they will be able to see that, especially since now with Navigraph, we have a sharper eye on the weather...

I can't wait for the 330 aerosoft to come out, but doing an 8 hour flight with the seat belt OFF is a bit boring...

I got plenty of turbulence in the 737. Just an hour ago near Naples. Lots of rain, lots of turbulence.

I have had a lot of turbulence on my recent flights with the A2A Comanche, I also use FS Realistic and haven't noticed any reduction in that effect over time, quite the opposite since I started flying the Comanche.
