Thoughts on Taxi2Gate KMCO

Featured Replies

When T2G KMCO came a while back, the reviews were pretty bad. I see that it is on sale (not a blowout sale of course at 20%), and I am curious if with the updates, it is worth picking up now. The SimMarket reviews are all over the board, so I am curious as to whether anyone can recommend this currently. Thanks in advance.

Cheers, Pete

I don't personally have it but I think they fixed the photogrammetry compatibility issues.

5800x3d Asus 4090 ROG Strix OC 2TB SSD 32GB Ram

Photogrammetry issues have been addressed, i haven't flown out there since the initial release though.

Maybe I'll do a quick Ft. Lauderdale to Orlando trip tonight and see how it performs now.

Asus Maximus X Hero Z370/ Windows 10
MSI Gaming X 1080Ti (2100 mhz OC Watercooled)
8700k (4.7ghz OC Watercooled)
32GB DDR4 3000 Ram
500GB SAMSUNG 860 EVO SERIES SSD M.2

KMCO definite buy!!! Performance is fine, and the issue with Photogrammety has been corrected.

10700kf, 3080 nividia, 32gbs 3400mhz, 1,000 watts power, M.2 DVMe !tb, boot, 1tb 7200rpm, storage, windows 10 home

Pete,

Landed there and there are still parts of the airport that will sink/bounce you around as if the tarmac is floating on water.

I found this area to be an unstable bumpy ride as far as tarmac stability.

While it looks tons better than MS/Asobo KMCO, the performance tax is much heavier with the Taxigate version. (I was running heavy ultra clouds with FSLTL Traffic there though)

I'm going back to vanilla KMCO for now.

Thanks for this detail, it’is a tough call. It’s only $20, but I really wish they would fix these issues. I suppose they will update for these issues at some point.

I just broke down and bought this today since it was on sale.  I have not 'flown' yet to/from but did drone around the airport.  It is worlds better than the default airport....it looks really nice. The gates have some LOD issues but there is a fix on Youtube with some .xml file adjustments (easy to do).  Really not sure why T2G cannot fix that. The only other issue I saw was immediate CTD's trying to load the PMDG 738 at gates 46-48. I was able to load the 787 at the same gates.  I was also able to load up the 737 at the SWA gates.  T2G did a great job of coding the correct airlines for the gates.  AI traffic looks mostly spot-on. Anyway, just my first thoughts....it's probably worth it if you like flying in/out of 'ToonTown'....

Well I would have to disagree, like I mentioned previously performance is fine, butter smooth on my specs, its definitely worth it!

I actually bought it earlier today as well, and it looks very nice based on my limited quick flight around the airport. Definitely seems to be worth it with the current discount.

As nice as it is, it has a few issues (mentioned above) that are disappointing. I'd like to see a different developer give this a go as it's a beautiful airport with a unique layout and deserves a better attempt.

B450 Tomahawk Max / Ryzen 7 5800x3D / RTX 3060ti 8G / Noctua NH-UI21S Max Cooling / 32G Patriot RAM / 1TB NVME / 450G SSD / Thrustmaster TCA & Throttle Quadrant / Xiaomi 32" Wide Curved Monitor 1440p 144hz

I purchased it when it was released the developer addressed 95% of the issues. I found the flickering jetway fix on Youtube so that is now resolve. I have not encountered any loading issue or performance issues with the scenery. I load from the B gates for United the 30's-48. I have done a good dozen flights in and out of MCO.
