LOG book locks up MSFS

Featured Replies

I never look at the logbook, all my flights are recorded either on my VA or A pilots LIfe V2. I decided to see what is in the MSFS logbook today, and when I brought up  the logbook page, it said " No entries" and immediately MSFS locked up. Couldn't get away from that screen, finally had to use taskmanager to close down MSFS. I restarted MSFS again, just to see if that was a one off, and same exact thing happened.  Anyone else see that?

Sorta . When opening the logbook it first is empty. Then nothing happens. And after a few seconds it suddenly populates. So yes, it may seem to be locked but on my end it comes back to life and all fine

I thought the same thing, but, at least for me, this wasn't the case. I have so many hours and logged flights that it just took a minute for it all to load in. I just had to be a little patient. The log book loaded up, and my sim wasn't locked up. I just finished a 2 1/2 hour flight, checked the logbook, and it was there.

Ah, I have a few thousand hours, so maybe I didn't wait long enough for it to load everything. I will check that out.

Could well be. I am close to 2,800 hrs and it takes a while to load. Not minutes but maybe 10-15 secs

OK, mine took about a minute and a half, and then all the flights loaded. I just didn't wait long enough. Thanks everyone. I had over 3,000 flights.

There was something in the release notes for the latest update that talked about compressing the logbook data so that it doesn't exceed some sort of limit. With that, there is now a delay in the logbook entries showing up. Perhaps some decompression must be done to display it?

Mine was doing the same Bob and I thought MSFS was hanging and closed with task manager like you did a few times, then I read a thread on here about it and realised that it was taking a couple of minutes to repopulate.  ASOBO did something in the last update to compress the log book as pilots with higher hours were losing their entries and a lot of people have noted this problem.  Hopefully it will be fixed in the next update.

Mine is stuck at 160 hrs since eternities. I don´t even care.
