This week’s Screenshot Challenge winner is Forum user ScenicAtol37419! If you’re interested in participating in our weekly Screenshot Challenges, check out the details in the Community section below!

The release of Sim Update 14 is imminent, with a scheduled launch date of Tuesday, December 5! Earlier this week, we released a new SU_14 beta build (1.35.19.0) to volunteer testers. Among the highlights of this new build is the addition of a re-vamped Cirrus SR22T G6 from Working Title! You can read the full release notes of this pre-release test build on our forums here.

Earlier today, we released an update for Local Legend III: Dornier Do J Wal. The release notes are on our forums here, and a new PDF manual is available on our Aircraft Manuals page here.

Yesterday, we hosted another Developer Livestream! Our panel of Jorg, Seb, and Martial answered many questions from the community and previewed some upcoming new features and enhancements to Microsoft Flight Simulator including improved ground handling, the World Hub, City Update V, Famous Flyer 8: Cessna 207, and World Update XVI: Caribbean! In case you missed it, you can watch the full video on our YouTube channel below. For those who prefer a written transcript, it is available on our forums here.

COMMUNITY FLY-IN FRIDAY

Community Fly-In: Papua New Guinea. Friday December 1st 1900z. www.twitch.tv/msfsofficial

On December 1, 1973, the South Pacific nation of Papua New Guinea first gained self-governance after being formerly administered by Australia for nearly 60 years. Among aviation fans, PNG is known for its beautiful natural scenery and rugged, challenging airstrips made famous by the incredibly popular YouTuber Missionary Bush Pilot.

For Fly-In Friday this week, we’ll depart from the capital city of Port Moresby then fly on a generally northerly heading over the jungles of the Owen Stanley Range. Our flight will include several touch and go landings at bespoke airports, so make sure you have the free World Update XIII: Oceania installed from the in-sim Marketplace!

Event details are available here. All are welcome to participate!

TUBELINER TUESDAY

Tubeliner Tuesday - Scandinavian 737 Farewell - december 05 @ 1800Z twitch.tv/msfsofficial

Due to crew sickness this week’s Tubeliner Tuesday Episode was cancelled, however will return next week! Community Manager Chewwy will take us back into Scandinavia once again, this time to celebrate the final Boeing 737 flight operated by Scandinavian Airlines (SAS). Departing Stockholm Arlanda (ESSA), and arriving into Oslo Gardermoen (ENGM), Chewwy will be flying this flight in the PMDG Boeing 737-700 on the VATSIM Multiplayer Network.

Event details are available here. Feel free to follow the flight on our Twitch channel!

COMMUNITY VIDEO

The Avro Vulcan is one of the most iconic aircraft ever to grace the skies, and although they no longer fly in the real world, you can now keep this warbird alive in Microsoft Flight Simulator with the recently released add-on by JustFlight.

YouTuber Q8Pilot walks us through the step by step process of waking this old bird up from a cold and dark start state, to having the four famous Rolls-Royce Olympus 201 engines up and running ready for takeoff in this week’s Community Video!

Developer Livestream was one of the most interesting of the last months, not to say of the year. It was full of good news and advances of what is to come in the short term.

Thank you for sharing all this good news, from the Microsoft forums to ours.

Yeah, the aircraft physics and ground handling changes they announced for SU15 are awesome. They could have kept them entirely for FS 2024 but they decided to update MSFS with what was possible to port into it instead...
