Is anybody able to use the A310 decently?

Featured Replies

Hi, I am trying to play with the A310 and I have two issues for which I opened two bug reports on the main forum:

1) Periodic stutter every 15 s, induced by CoherentGTDraw

2) Can't quit the flight and return to main menu: the sim freezes and I have to terminate MSFS from the task manager

All this with empty community folder and the default traffic and Bing tiles.

Can you reproduce these issues? Or do you think it's time to wipe my SSD and reinstall everything? 🙂

I have been using it regularly and am enjoying it.  The only problem I have is CTD hitting "FLY" when loading it a second time.  A work around is to load a different plane first.  Otherwise, no problems.

I don't have any of the problems you mention with the A310 or any other airplane.

Today I flew a flight with it (KATL to KDTW) and it went nicely, actually this is the first A310 flight I've done in a couple of months.

Every once in a while I will start MSFS and it will be super laggy, even in the menu screens before even loading a flight.  If that happens, I quit and reboot.

I have problems with it.  I'll suddenly get huge FPS loss - sometimes it's so bad I have to stop the flight.  I also find it very unstable (almost like it wants to stall) when landing.  It rolls and yaws a lot I swear it's going to spin.  Lastly, on several occasions it's blown right through final.  I've learned to intercept final approach course in heading mode and only arm the LOC after the CDI is about 1 dot away.

Don't get me wrong, I want to love this airplane.  It's a great airplane for a 7-8 hour route where we in the sim world lack a (good) 757/767/A-330.

It's the avionics or other internal systems... when cold and dark it doesn't stutter and it's MainThread limited at stable 62 fps (50 fps with data on). As soon as I turn on the batteries, the spikes begin. Same behavior with or without NanoVG enabled.

Also, when data is totally disabled I have normal loading times and does not freeze on quit. Data on = extremely long loading times with every aircraft.

I think it's time to wipe out the SSD...

This plane is still not finished ( stutters and systemwise ) and i am waiting for an update but i belive this will never be happen - some kind of typical for inibuilds..

Did a full reinstall of Windows 11 and the sim with the following results:

  • Long loading times: fixed
  • A310 periodic stuttering: fixed (for now)
  • Freeze when trying to return to main menu: NOT fixed
