FSDG Rhodes Diagoras

Featured Replies

I have just noticed that there is an FSDG addon available for Rhodes Diagoras airport that apparently also covers the entire island. I would be interested to hear what other AVSIM members think of this package. Is it worth considering?

I’ve got this, it’s pretty good. The models aren’t always top POI quality but it definitely improves the island.

The airport itself is pretty good and the other additions are some hotels and the fort in Rhodes town I think there’s some masts and radar on the hill next to the airport and also the old runway which has a drag race and some cars and things there I think.

There’s some reviews online that I found before I bought it but that was a while ago.

In short it adds quite a few models but they’re not always top quality imho.

I’d recommend it though.

As an aside, I was hoping by now Greece would be part of a WU. There’s so many beautiful islands to fly around and in between.

Greece is one area that I would like to explore more in Microsoft Flight Simulator. I did not have decent scenery for it in P3D (apart from FlyTampa Corfu airport and island), but the general scenery in MSFS should look good. I have just purchased ORBx LGSK Skiathos in the MS Marketplace sale (I have always wanted to visit this island in the simulator), and I will probably get Gaya Simulations LGKO Kos and FlyTampa LGAV Athens very soon!

You might want to consider getting Samos (LGSM, Terrainy Studios, available from Orbx -not currently on sale though-, probably also on MP). Decent scenery and a challenging approach (there's a longer video available on that channel):

Asus ROG STRIX X870-E Gaming; Ryzen9 9950X3D; RX9070XT; 96GB RAM; 4GB/2GB M.2 SSD; 8GB HDD; LG 45GX90SA-B

Hi, you can also consider the freeware LGTS, LGAL, LGZA and LGMT that can keep you busy while shopping.

LGSK is a great addition and so is the LGSM mentioned above, 2 of the most challenging approaches.

GAYA LGKO was very heavy in P3D and have not bothered in MSFS.

You may want LGKR by FT too, or the small LGHI by inibuilds which is on sale i reckon.

And the Holy Grail of all addons... the one that creates free time to enjoy the hobby. (sorry no link😄)

Happy flying !

Those Terrainy Studios addons look nice. LGIK Ikaria is quite short for a 737, but definitely worth a shot  I see that LGZA Zakynthos International is also in the pipeline.

I think they are operating ATRs there. Looks like what started as an inquiry into Rhodes is about to turn into a major investment 😁

FlyTampa's LGAV is really really good!
I've got 29Palms' LGMK Mykonos aswell but I somehow regret buying it 'cause there are sceneries out there that got a bit more "immersion" and look better 😉

I have not checked out the area around Athens yet, but I remember some photoscenery of that area suffering from an extreme "red saturation" problem. I certainly hope that is not the case with the Bing scenery.

I assume that you also use Prealsoft Amsterdam landmarks, Gerard? Would you recommend that as a worthy upgrade, considering that FlyTampa EHAM Amsterdam Schiphol is also on my shopping list?

Hi Christopher. I certainly have Amsterdam  landmarks and it adds many known objects.

FT EHAM I have too and I use a few flightsim.to addons to put people on the panorama terrace and in front of the airports entrance. Also moving people at the McDonalds near rw 9-27.
