XP12 "hangs" on exit

Featured Replies

Hi all, running the latest stable 12.0.8 Steam version. Since (I think, the last RC3), whenever I exit XP, it still shows "Running" on Steam... and I have to manually "STOP" it.  Is anyone else having this issue? Plugins: Avitab, Terrain Radar, Global Forests v2, FF A350, Felis 747-200, IXEG 737-300, LES DC-3, Colimata Concorde, Zibo 737-800 (latest version), Reality XP GNS and GTN, Sparky 747-400. Everything else is vanilla - no autoortho, no X-world.

I've reported it sometimes hanging in

(gdb) bt

which looks like its waiting for some network shutdown that never happens. Don't have an XPD yet tho.

Is this related to the full screen to windowed issue?

I only run full-screen. Not sure what all that stuff above even means, unfortunately.

It's a new issue raised on the org

Got this problem from time to time as well. Plugin? erratic goes shutdown nicely in a few seconds or just hangs there. Seems a reload of the aircraft can also cause a CTD. Some suspect SAM - not entirely convinced. Annoying but not fatal!

No Zink cause I am on nVidia 2060. Weird thing is that some time prior to some Beta of 12.08 this was NOT happening and I haven't really gained much in the way of plugins. Maybe it's that weird Gizmo thing that comes with X-Aviation stuff?

if you mean what I posted, its a linux backtrace.

Its a "standard" linux tool, that among other things reports exactly where in code it is stopped, in that case the function

inet_shutdown()

waiting for a thread to finish.

which although that is written by LR, Im guessing is short for internet shutdown.

There is very likely more than one cause, AutoATC had plenty of them over its development - afaik AutoATC related hanging are all resolved now, the really hard thing with stuff that happens "only sometimes" is understanding the root cause can take ages.
