Grid mesh pattern on ground airport textures

Recommended Posts

All,

I seem to have an issue with mesh grid patterns bleeding through the ground scenery, both pay ware and WT airports to varying degrees.

I have Zinertec's airport enhancement package installed however I only seem to have noticed this in the last few weeks, could it be anything to do with the recent SU14?

Does anyone have the same problem??

Regards

I have seen this on the Isle of Man, but then this area appears to have had major texture display problems since MSFS was released. For the record, I run the simulator in DX11 mode.

Try removing Zinertec and reverting to DX11 and see if that solves the issue.  If that doesn't solve it, try removing all of your addons.  If the problem persists, it sounds like a problem with MSFS itself which you may have to just live with.

What GPU are you using and how much VRAM do you have?  If you are compromised here, you may have to look at reducing some of the settings.

It's hard to be sure without knowing your system specs, GPU settings, MSFS graphics settings and addons being used.

Could you post a screen shot of this? This is one of those things that could cause several issues to end up being conflated.

I believe you see the ground tiles bug which is acknowledged by the team and recently they found out what the problem is: a ground source conflict between newer and older tiles.

This is exactly what I mean by conflating issues. Until we see a picture I can't tell which issue he has. There is an issue that affects airports textures alone when using DX12 and there is an issue that affects all scenery, irrelevant which DX version and causes tile swapping. They're not the same.

Guys,

Thank You for your replies, not having luck posting picture but a better description may help.

Chess board type square lines across the runway which are very visible at night not so much in the day, if orient outside view to looking straight down they disappear however at a shallow angle  I.E  from cockpit very noticeable.

I did read a recent post ref elevation issues for some airports and wondered if this could be connected.

As previously mentioned more prevalent with addon airports.

Sorry for the lack of picture

Hmmm, sounds to me like this is an entirely different issue to what any of us thought. It doesn't sound like either the DX 12 vanishing airport texture bug nor does it sound like the texture swapping bug but we really need to see pictures, I'm afraid. You need to upload them to an image hosting website and then link them, I think.

Yes, the link works Nicholas.  Hell's teeth!  I have never seen anything like that.  Does it happen in daylight as well?

Call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind, but I prefer Rob.

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

This was happening to me in the past, Nicholas. As far as I can remember it was an Anisotropic Filtering issue.

In the NVCP, turn anisotropic filtering to Application Controlled and set the option in-game to 16x16 or whatever setting you normally use. See if that works, I'm 95% sure that was how I fixed mine. It was way more noticeable at night with the landing lights shining out across the tarmac but could also be seen in daylight.

Thanks for the replies guys,

Tried your helpful suggestions El Diablito. NVCP was application controlled....however in the sim menu anisotropic filtering was set to off placed to 16x and voila all is good in flightsim world. It must have been turned off in error by me atsome point.

All contributors to this post thank you so much for taking time to help me out, All have a great 2024

Yes, I thought it was something different and after looking at the pic I had seen someone here post the very same thing quite some time ago. Perhaps it was even El Diablito above but I can't remember that far back.

Pleased you got it fixed.
