Please be careful of VRFlightSimGuy…

Recommended Posts

He has passion for VR to be sure - almost too much,

as an influencer - he has many dissatisfied followers - just think of some Aero & Pimax Crystal users,

Artur from Somnium VR1 just called Zuckerberg nuts,

I had to remind Artur that Zuck’s Quests actually have the lion’s share of the total VR HMD market,

(there is no released VR1 HMD yet - only time will tell - is it vaporware?)

& to be banned by VRFSG for simply pointing out that Quests are overwhelming dominating the VR market is ridiculous…

Yeps, agree

Making a lot of videos and change mind all time. Being paid by others

I stopped watching it a long time ago, since everything was cool and great, no criticism, but wow, these are no longer reviews but advertisements.

Unfortunately true for a lot of influencers. Got to be real careful who to trust, because even the most seemingly neutral content creator is bobbing and weaving a minefield of not being straight forward and honest, to protect sponsorships, not hurt ad revenue or just not close any doors on potential future sponsorships. Then you just have people like VR Flight Sim Guy who isn't intelligent enough to come off as fair and balanced.

I'm of the generation that doesn't trust any YouTube personalities, I gather my thoughts on a product the old school way of proper research and feedback, not some bloke in his mums basement talking endlessly about nothing.

As for VRFlightSimGuy I have no issues with him, not watched much of his stuff but find him a decent chap on his discord so that's fine for me.

& a big issue is to recommend NOT to install Windows Updates,

Very silly!

That's actually good advice for WMR users as it's widely known that later this year the September Win11 update will brick all WMR headsets.

Dumb idea, frankly, to cripple Windows Updates - the OS we actually use,

Even though HP has dumped the G2 (EOL) - it remains to be seen what HP Reverb G2 support is forthcoming…

There is no support going forward, it was ended last year and yes I agree skipping updates isn't ideal, but if you download the September update be prepared to go without VR, it's that simple.

There are alternative solutions, but even those are merely temporary.

Well of course eventually they want to chase the real money and grab sponsorships and yes that requires some VR product shilling.😂

Youtube pays pennies for gaming related content...and the bipolar flight sim community aren't exactly the most supportive bunch, can't blame the guy for turning into a corporate VR product shill.🤣

He's trying to make a living...
