Yes, that is correct for everyone wanting to use MSFS_AutoFPS with the latest MSFS 2024 SU1 Beta. fra147 was just asking after the predecessor app, DynamicLOD_ResetEdition, which has also been made MSFS 2024 SU1 Beta compatible.

I just saw his post, which is a shame but family should come first.  While I have been working a lot on my app lately, the vast majority of that work has been maintaining and improving what was already there.

I've only added three features that you could call new since the original MSFS2020_Auto FPS version 0.4.3.1, namely the Check for Updates option to slightly modify the update checking the app already did,  VRAM+ because MSFS 2024 was desperately crying out for it in its current state and the foundation for it was already in the code, and FPS Cap, which is not actually new at all as it is just a specific config of the existing Auto TLOD mode.

Regarding the VR code you speak of, I have looked at the code up on github and it too is a specific case of Auto TLOD like FPS Cap, but with the ability for TLOD Min to go lower by half if required to maintain the FPS target. From my assessment, this is not really any different than using FPS Cap in my app but setting your TLOD Base yourself to just half of what you would have set in his app then let TLOD Base + do the rest.

As such, I am not really sure what you would want me to incorporate. What is it that you are looking for that my AutoFPS cannot already be configured to achieve in a very similar manner?

oh no that's fine mate I was just wondering if anything could be useful, I've not touched MSFS24 for awhile so haven't actually used KayJays version for weeks. 🙂

This is for Reset XPDR. I have downloaded and used each version of MSFS AutoFPS. Currently on version 4.4.2. Recently, when I click on the exe file that I downloaded

, windbg opens up and that’s all the further things go. I make sure that I shut down 4.4.2 before going to 4.4.4 exe. Any idea what may be the issue?

I'm not sure what you mean by windbg opens up.

In any case, I suggest you download the latest release version 0.4.4.4 from the direct link here and install it with the clean install option checked. Let me know if you still have an issue after doing that.

Hello,

My first post. Am happy with AutoFPS which has saved me and my 3070ti in MSFS 2024... it can run.  I have been tweeking the settings and if I can ask for a basic sanity check on these settings for a B-787 going into SFO.  If possible I have the approach at about 60FPS and the landing at about 25 FPS.

I am glad that AutoFPS is serving you well. There is no one right set of settings for everyone so if you have found something you are happy with stick with that.

Thanks,

Glancing at the huge number of posts here I guessed I was overthinking the problem and decided to fly my milk run from Reno to SFO in the non-expert model with defaults.  Well, of course the results were better FPS including 40 on landing.  I could see the trade off was the TLOD was lower and ended up at 100, which is pretty poor but does not stutter.

I guess if I reset the Expert Mode it will start with these settings and maybe I can try moving up the TLOD.

Just as a historical FYI I wrote a lot of flight simulator code 15+ years ago and this is what it looked like in those days:

Just moved to pc so this is the first time I have used Autofps , I select 40 fps and let Autofps do its magic and am very happy with the results thank you for the continuing work you do.

I really do enjoy Autofps and thank you for developing the app. My issue is when I’m landing I’m getting a stuttering effect on landing due to the scenery loading. It has TLOD at 50 upon final approach. Any suggestions on what to do to stop the quick load/stutter?

Does the same thing happen if you don't use this app and have TLOD manually set to 50? If so, there's not much you can do about it other than choosing a lower TLOD.

Another option if you are using expert settings is to set a higher Alt TLOD Base than the default 1000 ft, so that MSFS has more time to adjust to the final TLOD change before landing. Try 2000 or even 3000 ft.

Right now I’m using just the autofps mode. It is because there is too much to load at the last minute as I fly into an airport? It usually happens about 20-30 feet above the runway. Just as I approach flare.

would using expert help me out more?
