GA Aircraft for Short Hops

I fly the C208 Caravan modified by Black Square for stuff like this.  Not exactly default with the add on I know, but worth it to get the steam gauge version.

It has Short Field performance, a bit more speed than the average GA, good range, feels like a substantial aircraft, not too complicated to learn, reverse on landing if needed, and a good view as it has a high wing.  I love it!.

I have also added the FTSim+ sound pack for it.  Superb and really brings it to life even more.

Sometimes when you get an aircraft like this it stops you using so many others because it is that good.  You can place yourself in so many mission types with this aircraft from simple sight-seeing, to commuter, parcel, bush, and special missions etc.

I love the black square van as well. So versatile. Never knew about the sound pack. I'll have to get it

Well, if you have MSFS Deluxe, then I wholeheartedly recommend the Pipistrel Virus SW121. That little plane is really fun and easy to fly in the sim. It does not get enough spotlight.

AMD Ryzen 9900X3D & ASUS X870E Gaming Plus MB, w/64 Gb GSkill DDR5 RAM, PNY RTX 5090 GPU, lots of SSD's and M.2 drives, HAVN  Case, Virpil VPC Panels 2 and 3, Virpil Constellation Alpha Stick, Virpil Rotor TCS Plus w/ Hawk-60 Collective grip, TM TCA Yoke Boeing Edition, TM HOTAS A-10 and F/A-18 Sticks and TM TPR Rudder pedals. Currently on Win11

It is a hidden gem actually.  It is great for loitering around a specific sight-seeing area, but just a bit slow from A to B.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's.  Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.

Personally I prefer pistons to turboprops. I like that instant response from the throttle, especially when hand flying. The Bonanza is quite a nice piston aircraft, that's fairly nippy. The Baron and DA62 are good options for twins, but views aren't as good in twins. Also keep in mind that most of the default aircraft have free enhancement mods on flightsim.to. Sometimes though, slow is fun. Take the NX Cub out for a spin in some scenic areas and you can land almost anywhere. Small grass fields, inner city parks, beaches, dry river beds, you name it. Sometimes I'll pretend to give tours in STOL aircraft and land right next to the monument (or what have you). Makes for some interesting approaches lol.
