MSFS Startup/Update Failure

Recommended Posts

I reported this in another thread but want to see if anyone else is experiencing this issue...

This just happened to me this morning - in the middle of startup I get a very fast flash of the Installation Manager? It then disappears so quickly I can barely read it and continues loading without any update or installation sequence running.

After I get to the main menu the sim is in windowed mode instead of full screen.  It also indicates that I have an unfinished Essential Packages Update.  If I click install update it goes back to the Installation Manager screen which flashes for a brief second, fails again and continues until the main menu appears again, whereupon it notifies me that I need to install the Essential Packages update.  In other words, it's Ground Hog Day in FS.

If I attempt to fly instead, I get a CTD before I can get in the air.  I have not been able to fly today.

Something is up, because I had only seen this once about 2 years ago, and a couple weeks ago it got stuck in an update loop, deleted all my settings, and every time I'd set them again, it would fail to save.

I didn't figure out what was causing it... a restart actually fixed it.

I am getting the same, only started doing it since i jumped onto SU15 the other day. No issue before, and I have reported it to MS

I have this also, but isn't this glitch only related to Beta version?

1.37.8.0 (BETA) I do not have this issue at all. Everything opens normally and sim plays fine. Nothing of issue about content manager.

=> I don't play in full screen mode, only window mode. Maybe that's why I don't have the issue?

Though I did get a fairly rapid (surprising) response from MS with a couple of steps to try, nothing worked.  Of course, they are recommending a clean install if the first procedures failed...  I'd hate to have to do that, considering I did a clean install back in January after a new PC build.  If that's the case it will have to wait as I just don't have the personal time for something like this.

BTW, a restart didn't work (I did this about 6 times while attempting the fixes)

Since the last quick update that I have no idea what it was for is causing issues with my installation. I never had my virtual or system memory usage go over 50%, now when I start my system memory goes over 90% and the virtual memory stays over 90%. Never had this problem before, until update. Now my flight sim crashes when I run out of resources. Do anyone know what that update was or how to uninstall it?

Got the same quick Installation Manager update screen, that disappeared too fast to allow me to check anything. Then the sim started to load in windowed mode, so I pressed the Alt + ENTER to put in full screen and luckily everything went fine and could complete a short flight. I think something's should be going on with the MS Servers.

I have the same situation.

All other works perfect. Every start i must change from Windows Mode to Full Screen Mode.

I hope there will be a fix for this bad problem.

I can confirm that I now have to switch from Windowed mode to Full Screen mode at every start of the simulator. I do not have the SU15 Beta installed.

Same for me. Silence from Asobo on the official forums.

I hate it.
Always problems.
Every time after an update there are different problems.
I also have nothing to do with the beta version

Let's wait.
Hopefully this will be fixed.
We have no way of doing anything about it.
