Inibuilds EGLL Updated to V3.1.0 - Problems

Recommended Posts

Hello Gang!

Inibuilds just updated EGLL to version 3.1.0.  Problem is that after the update, Inibuilds does not recognize the airport is installed and the options do not appear.  Any ideas?

Thanks

Sincerely,

Dennis D. Müllert

This problem has been coming up more frequently lately on their discord channel.

https://forum.inibuilds.com/topic/22062-my-scenery-is-not-showing-even-though-it-shows-as-installed-in-content-manager/

Is it done yet? When will it be released? Will it be freeware or payware? How much will it cost? Any updates on the progress? Will it work for Xbox? Can I be a beta tester? How's the performance in VR?

Thanks for the recommendation.  That did not help the issue.

Hmm yeah I've got something up as well.  When I install the new version (deleting the old version on the old path as instructed) I have no options that I can select in the inimanager, then when I close Ini Manager and re-open it the EGLL scenery is not showing as installed.  Did they remember to update the paths? 🙂

The good thing is that the scenery is loading in MSFS, but definitely something is wonky on the IniManager.  I've posted the issue in their forums as well - let's see what they come up with.

iniManager is a real poor companion to their otherwise excellent products. Earlier versions I described as "the worst eCommerce platform I've ever used" due to its poor responsiveness, navigation issues, and bad layout. That's gotten better, but it's still an extremely frustrating content manager to use and frequently crashes and locks up.

IniManager is the worst piece of MSFS related software I have ever used.  I won't buy any more products from them until they sort it out with their new software coming up (hopefully).  There is no point as I can't update anything anyway just lately.

Call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind, but I prefer Rob.

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

update worked fine here once I remembered that I use AddonLinker and thus had to delete the previous EGLL manually in my scenery folder (where I also found the new EGLL folder)

Hmm, I don't really have any problems with iniManager. It's far better than the Aerosoft and simMarket ones though. One thing that I really like in iniM is how easy it is to find and install GSX profiles.

But I do need the EGLL options as I tend to disable most of them. So I think I'll delay the update.

100%. Aerosoft is the worst and simmarket slightly after. IniManager is leaps and bounds beyond this (though not as good as Contrail).

Pretty much what I said in an FSElite comment about 6 months ago, and one of the ini devs castigated me for not providing them feedback.

Okay, here's your feedback, it sucks. I'm not a UX designer and you're expecting me to pay you, so if you can't figure out what's wrong with it, that's on you.

Agreed, Contrail wins this contest. And I’m looking forward to that day in the future (that we all know never comes) when we can install all addons using one manager…

Yes, this is it.

They have had lots of feedback from other people getting exactly the same faults as me.
I followed all of their instructions including the ones on the forums in a couple of threads about the same issues (there you go, there's some feedback Ini ), and I wasted well over an hour clearing their temp folders and caches and installing yet another new version of IniManager etc.

But there comes a time when you just have to let it go because I want to be flying, not troubleshooting why my download of the A300-600 v1.00237483 isn't downloading and keeps dropping back from 2 point somthing gigabytes to about 649Mb, that's if the app manages to stay open, as sometimes it just quits to desktop and vanishes in the blink of an eye.  Every other download manager works...  contrail, Orbx, PMDG etc. So what is it with IniManager?

I notice even IniBuilds give up on it as well at times.  I am hearing if you show your exasperation enough they will give you a direct download link which works.
I am not requesting any.  I have about eight of their products, so I will wait for their new completely rewritten v2 of IniManager.
If that doesn't work, I will just buy stuff elsewhere in future.

I really want to like IniBuilds, but with the download system, the A300 issues like the falling out of the sky bug, and other issues, and the problems with the A320N they are doing for MSFS in the sim, they aren't exactly covering themselves in glory at the moment.
Too fast too soon maybe?
