Disastrous news.  Aivlasoft is peerless with no equivalent.

It’s sad to report the Aivlasoft forum was taken down yesterday. All that useful info is lost. And no ability to see what the future is when a kind offer was made to host it.

The website is still running but its only purpose is to provide links to downloads.

I'd venture a guess it is LNM that caused the downfall of Aivilasoft's product.

More like Simbrief. Aivlasoft EFB was brilliant for European airspace, but it often created nonsensical flight plans for Canadian flights for me. Simbrief has not the same level of detail, but it has RL flight plans which work most of the time.

It was never advertised as a flight planner. Yes, it’s possible to link to Simbrief or RouteFinder within the interface but those are external products.

It remains exceptional for loading a plan, adding SID and STAR then saving the plan to be used in another process like Radar Contact for me. I could also load that plan into LittleNavmap. Taxi routing remains excellent and not something any other program can deliver.

Sales declined probably because it could never read MSFS scenery files as well as those for P3D so it was less inviting.

Welp, I guess this is my cue to finally upgrade to X-Plane.  I use Aivlasoft on every flight.  Import Simbrief flight plan, get taxi directions, keep track of my flight.  It is the best addon I've ever purchased.

And yea, this is why online licensing is such a scourge.  I've lost many things over the years because of licensing servers.  Technically a breach of contract, but what are you gonna' do?

I hope the maker understands the value of their product to the community.  It was a fantastic product.

@mjl1966, why change? EFB will continue to work just fine for the foreseeable future.

The servers remain accessible for the rest of the year so providing you download the two installables you can continue.

I have used this program since 10 years and will miss it. However, particular the verical approach situation. I now can't build a updated database for the current AIRAC 2407. The database remains at 1802/R1 even so the Navigraph FMS Data Manager has Aivlasoft EFB 2.0 at AIRAC 2407.

Anyone any idea? At least I could use it to the end of the year

Thanks for reply

You’ll be able to use it for the forseeable future. Regarding the problem updating to the latest AIRAC cycle it’s probably a wrong setting. Have you checked in EFB the Navigraph FMS Data Manager is looking at the correct folder?

I’ll check tomorrow and report back. Pity the forum isn’t available. 🙁

Thanks for reply Ray. Even so I have a Navigraph subscription, I use the EFB for all my flights and prefer it to Naphigraph.

The Problem: The Navigraph FMS Data Manager updates the following file:

C:Users/myname/Documents/Aivlasoft/EFB2/Server

It looks like there is something missing.

Thanks for help

Your path is wrong. See mine and once you change it all will be fine.

Ray, any inclination of what will happen when MSFS2024 is released?

Thanks

Given there will be no changes to EFB the best you can hope for is it will work the same as it does for MSFS2020.
