  • Tobii is tracking both head and eye movement. For stability, I found to turn off eye tracking and use a small curve on the head tracking so it didn't respond to micro movements.

  • I actually use my Tobii with a 34" curved ultrawide mo itor and it works great. I also have 2 1080p monitors in front for my instrument panel and another monitor off to the side for navigraph, etc. No

  • I have Tobii and I also wear glasses. It's not an issue at all -  Tobii works perfectly, specs or not.

Unfortunately Technical Alpha messed up my MSFS settings so I reset them. So I'm using OpenTrack now. Do you want setting from OpenTrack?

Thanks no need

My windows quit on me and I had to reset everything, so I'm taking a "vacation" from my PC

Thanks again

  • 3 weeks later...

I just got the Tobii 5 ready for a bit of sight seeing in 2024 😀

I previously had a 20 year old TiR3 which I rarely used due to it jumping around because of less than optimal positioning and lighting. I was going to buy a TiR5 but baulked at the price (£179.95) for something that hasn't been improved for a long time. The Tobii was £299.

The Tobii is great, it tracks smoothly and you can easily look round the whole cockpit and over both shoulders. You can also leave your seat and return without having to fiddle around re-adjusting everything. You also don't need the headgear which gets you funny looks from delivery drivers.

The only niggle is when you toggle head tracking (freeze the view) to program avionics for example, it returns to the default view. This can be compensated for with a custom or default view to the CDU/GPS bound to a hat button, so not a biggie.

Here are my settings (identical to A330 driver - look for his review on YT)

Eve vs Head Tracking Ratio 1.00

Eye Tracking Responsiveness 0.50

Head Tracking Sentitivity 2.00

Center Stabilization 0.20

Head Tracking Sensitivity:Roll 1.00

Head Tracking Sensitivity: Position 1.00
