May 30, 20242 yr This is a really good way to start: [HOW-TO] Graphics Settings and Performance Guide (SU12 Update) (7/26/2023) - Community Content Hangar / Community Guides - Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums Lee Lee H i9 13900KF 64GB Ram 24GB RTX 4090
May 30, 20242 yr Get this app.... https://msfsaddons.com/2024/02/25/auto-fps-for-msfs-automatically-adjusts-your-tlod-and-cloud-settings-for-consistently-smooth-performance/
May 30, 20242 yr I would recommend you don't apply the app yet. Get to know how MSFS works and how the settings work in the sim first. Then you can experiment. Lee Lee H i9 13900KF 64GB Ram 24GB RTX 4090
May 30, 20242 yr I would get the app that will give you Frame Generation on your GPU. It takes a 4000 card for native FG, but with the app and installed FG will be in the options. FG will double your framerate. That's a 100% increase. You can then probably run preset render at Ultra, both LODs at 150 to 200, DLSS Quality. A good test is flying from the default runway at KJFK and flying directly straight out and then turning very slightly to fly down at about 1000 feet through the Manhattan skyscrapers that you can see in the distance. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=frame+generation+rtx+3000 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Configuring MSFS graphic settings according to your hardware capabilities is the best approach. Check out the link that "midnight music " posted. As was said take a look at the link posted above...and I would add that on my system the most taxing / hard on performance setting in MSFS is TLOD (Terrain Level of Detail). Second place would be Glass Cockpit Refresh Rate. Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
May 30, 20242 yr I would recommend to NOT post a question such as this here. You are now going to receive many responses that just won't apply to your system. Do your own experimenting!
June 1, 20242 yr Tlod is most important setting for cpu usage. You can use auto fps tool for different tlod settings at ground and air. Also ai traffic density is very cpu limited and use with caution. Ultra cloud resolution at some scenes can be very heavy for gpu, you can use high setting with most scenes. C. Uygar Aircraft Maint.
