Also hearing that the sounds on this model are pretty poor.

No idea how true this is, I saw it on the msfs forums

Really???  Come on, that's really disheartening to see people turn an FS aircraft release into ☝️

I don't think if Asobo released a Lancaster and proceeds went to a UK foundation any of us on this side of the pond would be complaining.  Just highly unnecessary in my opinion.

the hydraulic auto pilot system is apparently modelled correctly.

Huh!........Visually maybe, the heading function doesn't work, why isn't there a keyboard shortcut also in MSFS to keep the altitude your at, once you have pressed a key combination?

Is in p3d and FSX.

Also, another stinkin' fault is that Ctrl & Space is supposed to make the view revert back to the pilots default viewpoint - not with this, it puts the camera viewing the overhead switches.

Had to program a view for that to put it right.

Its an unfinished product.🤕

MS chose to ignore the other 12 nations who took part in the operation.

You might be ok with but personally I think it's crass especial on a day dedicated to the memory of ALL who took part.

I'm not the one complaining about the USO donation, but you didn't make the best comparison. How many Lancasters did the USAAF operate? 🤔😉

Well to be fair the C-47 military livery that comes with it has no national military markings on it. No roundels of any kind.

Edit: Whoops that's not what's being argued sorry

This is like looking for a problem to a solution.  Yes, I am ok, with the proceeds going to the USO.  Now you could either say, gee that's an appropriate, a lot of American citizens sacrificed to build it for the war effort where it shuttled thousands of Allied troops including thousands of US teenage men coming to support the cause to a country they had never seen to support a people they never met while the women built and ferried them or you could say "they ignored the 12 other countries"  Either/or...

They took the proceeds from an "American built Famous Flyer"  that helped to turn the tides of the war and donated the proceeds to the USO. It's actually pretty logical when you stop and think about it... Local legends are by definition where the plane was created not where they were flown or by whom.  It was flown by more than 40 countries well into the Korean war, should everyone get a share of the proceeds?

It was released as a Local Legend based on where it was built not where it was flown or by whom.  My example was an aircraft built in the UK.

Now, If you want to get chicken vs the egg, how would the RAF have operated them if US civilians (in most cases women) didn't build them?   🤔

I love the idea that you still like to pretend that MS hasn't totally ignored the whole premise of the "Local Legend" aircraft. Dont remember Belfast being in the list of Cities that got an update the end of last month, but MS still rolled out the Skyvan.

As for who built the planes, by that argument, sounds money should be going to a civilian organisation not a purely military one ?

It's a non-profit for veterans and their spouses it's not a military organization.

I'm done debating this with you.  There are far greater things to spend energy getting upset over and turn into some sort of anti American elitism that somehow the US thinks they won the war alone than based on the proceeds of an FS add-on

Agree to disagree and have a good weekend.

So we can agree the USO is an organisation that would do nothing to help those people building these planes your were so concerned about one post back ?

As for the supposed anti American elitism believing that America thinks it win WW2 alone- where would expect that impression to come if not from decisions like MS's here ?

On a day to commemorate all the allied forces THEY CHOSE to single out one.

Again, respectfully agree to disagree, not debating an opinion.  This is getting very close to political and is far beyond the scope of an FS add-on and their choice of proceeds.

Enjoy your weekend.

The great thing about MSFS is it brings aviation history to life with birds like the C47.  Something to be appreciated.
