Black Square Duke Throttle

Featured Replies

Downloaded the Duke turbine. Everything was working fine. But now the throttles go crazy flickering up and down. Put The throttle all the way up and it scoots back down to idle. I have the latest download for the Duke. I rechecked my control settings and everything seems to be ok. This has to do with the Duke only. I switched to the Baron and other dual engines and the throttle works fine. Any ideas what I have to do to fix this? Thanks Walt

Are you using the same controller profiles for the planes?

You say 'Baron'...you mean the BlackSquare Baron?

Would suggest creating a new config file by copying the Baron and then deleting all axis assignments and setting up again. So you don't mess up your working Baron!

Sounds like you might have an axis assigned to 2 ops at once or vice versa.

What hardware are you using?

I have both Honeycomb Alfa and Bravo and the throttle quadrant works just fine with the new Duke turbine update.

Yes that's what I was thinking, but I did do a new profile for the Duke. And I can't find another binding connected with the throttle. I'm sure that's what it is tough. I just have to find it. Here's the thing though. Some times without making any changes, it works fine. Next time it could act squirrelly. Go Figure huh? Thanks everyone for the response though. It is greatly appreciated.

I have a similar thing with the PMDG 736. The 739 is fine with the SAME exact config setup file but the parking brake will NOT work. Press the button and it tries to engage but something somewhere is conflicting. Whatever it is it's NOT in the MSFS config setup anywhere, parking brake I deleted every key/button/shortcut you name it but...will NOT work.

I can live with that. YOUR problem sounds much worse as you can't fly with it!

I have the same problem with the PMDG and the brakes. No solution as of yet.

Is the throttle lock removed?

Apply the brakes before/while you engage the parking brake.

Lol thanks but i know that Ive been using PMDG jets for a decade!

No the brake is bugged - it rattles/shakes and wont toggle. Can't put it ON so taking it OFF is not possible either!

FWIW IWFM. To set I simply depress rudder brakes, THEN select PB.  I’m pretty sure others in this thread do the same.

PS. Ditto for me, PMDG almost two decades as I was day 1 or so buyer of the original PMDG 747 - 400.  The PB “trick” is very recent, less than a year(?) done for “accuracy” and had caused much sturm and drang at mothership board/forum

Yes I've used both methods. WHEN it wasn't bugged like now. Worked fine before one of the updates.

Parking brake lever will NOT move. It only shudders in it's current position as if there is a button conflict. Except there isn't.

Works fine in the 900 version which is weird, maybe it will start working again randomly!

Mebbe.  I’ve seen similar in MSFS days past. 🤨
