The Microsoft Force Feedback Pro stick was released in 1997 and I used it extensively in FS and, if memory serves correctly, SubLogics ATP. ย After releasing another, not so great model 2, these seemed to go the way of the dinosaur.

I mention the history because that model sold me on Force Feedback. ย It added so much to the feel of flying. ย The texture and surface of the runway, the feel of lifting off and situational awareness, even in those days was impressive.

Nice to see these coming back (for flight) with a few manufacturers. ย With higher volume sales, I am hoping prices will come down a bit.ย

Until then, I think many of us are hoping our Honeycombs hang in there. ย

There's not been many actual Game Changers I've experienced in my decades of gaming, but FFB in Racing Sims certainly was one, it just brought the tracks & cars to life which improved the experience tremendously.

I'd love to give it a go in Flight Sims one day, when the wallet allows!

'Affordable' is a relative termย ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • So what we've managed to figure out in only 16 hours is that "affordable" means different things to different people. ย  Truly we are a thinktank. ๐Ÿ˜‰ ย

  • It translates the telemetry data from MSFS into feedback. Works fine in MSFS... ย

It was pretty game changing back in the late 90sย heydayย of flight sims. The MS Sidewinderย FFB2 in particular won over a substantial audience to the tech, but patent issues and the shift away from flight sims in general meant the tech fell off the radar for a generation.

Hopefully the fact more mainstream (if still somewhatย niche) manufacturers are starting to embrace the tech means it canย have a fresh renaissance.

I just received this ffb yoke and it is absolutely amazing!!! I have now used it in msfs 2020 and in 2024 and in both , it feels like the real thing when youโ€™re flying in the 172.ย
I highly recommend this yoke. ย For the price , you just canโ€™t go wrong!!!
