MSFS 2024 - Any VR news recently

Featured Replies

I’m seeing lots of interesting stuff emerging from the Expo about 3d replacing textures, live ship data and better physics. Have I missed anything about VR? Quad views? Hand tracking? Better rendering pipeline?

There's been no specific news on VR from this weekend yet, now that the interviews are starting to trickle out hopefully someone has asked the question. Last time it was Helisimmer so I await their interview with interest.

Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)

I remember in the development update video from Expo, when they talked about the Optica, one of the team said that it was great in VR.  This at least confirms that they are still working in VR.

That was the guy from Got Friends, only saying what we all know and that VR works in MSFS2024.

Yes I think it's reasonable to expect VR in MSFS2024 to be exactly on the same level as VR in MSFS2020.

They are spending soooo much on improving it, just a tiny % on VR upgrades would be nice. They say they have (I think) 10 more partnerships to announce. They hired the FlightControlReplay guy, so why not hire OpenXr/OpenXRToolkit expert @mbucchia to sort VR. A tiny wink or “i can’t breath a word” would be nice at this point @mbucchia 🙂

Yeah. I hold my breath if the ooenxr works with 2024. If not ....this will instantly kill my immersion and using msfs 2024 VR without openxr is not an option for me. Because the optical and performance gains due the use of openXR is huge (cropping image, Foveated rendering etc.).
