July 4, 20241 yr PGA golf 2k23 (published by 2K Studios. And made by HB Studios who have long been the gold standard for golf sims). I think 2K23 is the 5th in their series. Normally $59 now $15 until July 11. The course designer: allows fans to create courses. There's probably 300+ courses made by fans. All are in the game (if you are online). Counting all the versions, I have played over 500 18 hole rounds. In the old days the Crosby Clambake was: Cyprus Point, Spyglass, and Pebble Beach. All of these are in the game, as well as a half dozen courses the British Open rotate on. At least half the courses on Golf Digest 100 best courses in world are there. Some made by users, some by HB Studios. There are console versions of the exact same game, maybe those are on sale too. This is the PC version on Steam: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1588010 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.
July 4, 20241 yr The only version I played was on Xbox Series S. No problems. I rate it 5 out of 5 stars. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. July 7, 20241 yr Been waiting a LONG time to afford switching my FS to 64bits. I finally bought both XPlane 11 AND FS2020 Premium for not much more than it would've cost for just 2020 Standard at regular price. I now know the struggle of the 24-hour "is it stuck/did it break" initial install! 🙃 (just sleep/work it off) BTW for those still on the fence about switching sims with older systems that are now lower than the stated "minimum requirements": Give it a try- it may still work. I took that gamble and was very pleasantly surprised that even with my now word not allowed-poor ancient GT5xx series GPU and last gen AM3+ system, both XP11 and FS20 still ran well. I'm finding that unless it needs something completely new like the Vulkan Graphics API for XP12, the "minimums" may just mean expecting no less than 60fps. I'm ok with 15-30 fps, which I've been accustomed to for years from all the mods I have with original FSX and Steam Edition. For me it's the right time to start moving on. I'll still be using FSX for a good while longer until I figure out how the tons of unique/retro/custom AI traffic I collected can be converted to work with what the AIG Traffic engine won't have. But as long as they still fly instead of CTD, I'm good with a slower than normal sim until I max out this board with a new GPU. XP12/FS24 can be for my next Generational Build. For those seeing this after the sale ends: monitor https://steamdb.info/ to track the price history and predict when the next sale should be due. You can also test XPlane with the demos on their site. https://www.x-plane.com/desktop/try-it/older/ Just delete the demo folder and buy/reinstall through Steam when ready since, like P3D, I've not seen the Developer site ever go on sale. July 10, 20241 yr There are exactly 3 truly steam train routes in Train Sim World. This package gets all 3 plus the ECL that the Royal Scotsman runs on. It also includes the Royal Scotsman itself TSW 4 Steam ICONS bundle: Normally $182 for $53 (71% off). https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/37326/Train_Sim_World_4_Steam_Icons_Bundle/ -------------------------- But the above will not run at all unless you ALSO have TSW 4 itself. Here it is for $8 along with a free Los Angeles Diesel passenger route. Normally the route is $40 and normally TSW 4 itself is $40 or $80 for only $8. TSW 4 US Regional edition: https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/33908/Train_Sim_World_4_US_Regional_Edition/ the grand total for the 2 packages is 53 + 8 =$61 normal price 182 + 80 = $262. ---------------------- To run diesel freight on the above LA diesel passenger route you need the rail cars from this package. But this package also includes 3 more routes and some engines along with all those freight cars which you need. The 3 included routes are Sherman Pass , Cane Creek, and Cajon Pass TSW USA Expansion Bundle ($112 normal for $27) https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/35749/Train_Sim_World_4_USA_Expansion_Bundle/ ------------------------ So I bought all the above for $53 + 8 + 27 = $88.43 Normal prices $262 + 112 = $374 EDIT: It took 54 GB of space for the $88.43 TSW bundles.
