Orbx Global Vector P3Dv4.5 GREECE Coastline Shoreline

Featured Replies

Hello

I have a problem with GREECE Coastline Shoreline with P3Dv4.5, the coastline are not good

The problem is solved is I desactivate "F:\Prepar3Dv4\ORBX\FTX_VECTOR\FTX_VECTOR_CVX\scenery\*_WTR_Waterbodies*.bgl"

But i don't know what file is it ! I don't want to do this.

Any solution please ?

Have you tried simply uninstalling Orbx Vector. This product was designed for early versions of P3D, but coastlines and vector information were substantially improved by LM in P3D 4 onwards.  Many of us felt it unnecessary to use Orbx Vector for these versions. In addition, there were some issues noted by users because the product was never fully updated for all the changes LM made in P3D4 and subsequent versions. I was running P3D 4.5 without Vector and never saw the issues you show. Greek coastlines looked normal. Similarly with current P3D 5.4.

I second Biggle's advice: just uninstall it.

ORBX, as usual, never did much to update FTX Vector or fix its problems.  They just took it over from Pilot's and integrated it into their little centralized app.

BTW, P3Dv5 has much better stock vector scenery, and is just overall better than v4 IMO.

If you want to just deactivate the ORBX water bodies and coast lines for this area the file would be 5518_WTR_Waterbodies.bgl.  Looking at your second picture, looks like you have removed the ORBX waterbodies.  This should leave you with the default land and coastlines. There appears to be another coastline that still showing up, would you have another scenery for this area active?  I do not have P3D4.5. I have justV5 and V6, in both sims there are issues with these islands with just a coastline showing up and no landmass for the islands. Not sure if the default P3DV4.5 scenery for this area has the same issues as P3DV5and V6.

As mention by Biggles2010 and Dave 2013, the default Vector data has improved, but still has issues in some areas like the Canadian North where I fly a lot.

I admit that I bought ORBX GLOBAL VECTOR under P3Dv3 a long time ago, but I don't know if it was useful for P3D or not. Now, I also installed it under P3Dv4.5 (for roads, rivers, traffic, airport elevation correction).
I have disabled 5518_WTR_Waterlines.*, because I don't use the "small rivers & streams" option. I have no other active settings in this region (towards LGIK).

If i disable "5518_WTR_Waterbodies.bgl", it is working now.

Thank you

Good morning,
Thanks for your help, I finally found the problem. It's all my fault, I had an addon that I didn't install a long time ago that modifies the Greek dimensions of LGIK when it's LGKF. The bgl is: GRcoastlines.BGL found in the freeware Kefallinia Photoreal from Rikoooo.
Thank you all for your quick help and advice. (It was not ORBX)

Hi StephaneS

I was sure there was two coastlines after you said you disabled the ORBX waterbodies vector file(s) in your original pictures. This is why I asked if you had another add-on enabled, glad you figured it out. This happens a lot,  I've done that before where I've installed an add-on and forgot about it and was having similar issues.

I think I encountered the same problem with a photo-real add-on for Crete...
