June 21, 201015 yr I am running Vista 64-bit and your patch didn't seem to work... I still got the solid windows in FS9 aircraft after running the utility. *Note: I tried reloading all the data after the patch was applied. It didn't work. :( Now I'm going to see if it works when I restart my PC.(I also had posted another, fresher thread on this... It disappeared from the board list without being fully resolved.

June 21, 201015 yr HELP! I installed the new textures, now I get black VC windows and blue raindrops against them!
June 21, 201015 yr I am running Vista 64-bithave you disabled VISTA's security feature UAC? is FS installed in the programs directory? if these two are 'true' the OS will not allow you to replace the texture files with ones that correct the FSX 'rain' bug.-- D. June 21, 201015 yr No, I haven't disabled UAC. FS is installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games. I just ran Flight1's patch as an Administrator.... now all I get is a fully black VC. Going to try Joe Binka's files.
June 21, 201015 yr Okay, I've tried his files and got the same black VC with blue raindrops... this problem is giving me a huge headache. Going to contact Microsoft Support.
June 22, 201015 yr No, I haven't disabled UAC. with UAC on you cannot edit protected files ... the FSX 'rain textures' are protected.FS is installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games. this is a 'protected' directory. UAC and the OS protect files in the folder from being changed.I just ran Flight1's patch as an Administratordoesn't matter. UAC being on keeps even 'admistrators' from making changes.--Microsoft Support keeps saying their system is not workingsupport isn't answering the phone?MS will not 'support' the raindrop fix provided by F1 or Joe Binka?MS admits that the black/blue VC cockpit glass is a bug?other?? :( -- D.
