August 29, 20241 yr I'm not a great fan of mountain scenery, and don't tend to go near Switzerland very often, but I saw there were huge numbers of POIs on the world map in that area after WU18, so I thought I'd go take a look round. Flight was out of Lugano, I believe, and I just headed north to the vague area where I'd seen a bunch of POIs on the map. This is the just the first one I spotted. Nothing special, in the sense that not a place I'd heard of or knew anything about, but I just thought I'd take the drone down for a look. And it really is amazing. So I thought I'd post these simply to point out the quality of the work that goes into these POIs and updates. There's a lot of moaning and whinging that goes on here on avsim about this and that in MSFS. There's also a bit of praise, and I wanted to add to that because I really do think these features are quite stunning. And we got dozens of them with every WU. And usually a few decent airports as well. So here's to MS/Asobo and whoever in there produces these features. Great work guys! Like I say, nothing special (in the Taj Mahal sense) but a wonderfully executed bit of scenery. The level and quality of detail really is stunning. Flight was in the new Eviation Alice, which is also great fun I may have to go and find a few more, even if it does mean flying around in the pointy bits. Thanks Eric, and the display is via "Shift-Z" (https://flightsim.to/file/16358/shift-z-stats ) 8 hours ago, John F said: Hidden gem. Thanks for finding it and posting. Cheers John! I don't often spot the POIs unless they're in the cities, but I turned the little poi markers on specifically for this hunt and that does obviously help. I'll sometimes have the markers "on" while I record a flight but turn them "off" on the replay for any screenies. 3 hours ago, pmplayer said: Beautiful set of shots, that is a very nice POI, looking top ! I also seem to remember someone saying on here that some of these POIs are using the new trees from 2024, and the trees here are certainly better looking, particularly up close, than normal. Bodes well for 2024. Are you enjoying your new rig? August 30, 20241 yr You can find all MSFS POI in a very easy way if you get the very good FStarter24 app. Just click one of the POI markers on the FStarter24 and you are on the right location for looking closer on the POI.

August 31, 20241 yr You've always featured ground-level POIs remarkably well, Andy, in MSFS... This one is no exception...with intricate details to boot...Thanks for sharing...!

This one is no exception...with intricate details to boot...Thanks for sharing...! Thanks P_7878. I'm probably more interested in the scenery than the aircraft. If I'm honest, I could live with this sim with just a single basic plane (or even none at all), but I wouldn't bother doing any of this if I had to go back to FSX or P3D, no matter how good the aircraft. I could live with XP and True Earth, but only in those TE regions.
