Two Questions On Sky4sim

Featured Replies

1st can't find a manual.

2nd Can Sky4sim run on another computer other than the FS2020 computer. Like Little navmap and Navigraph? If so how?

Trying to take some of the burden off FS2020 computer.

Thank You.

I'm not sure, but really? It doesn't take much to run it at all so unless you have a PC from the 1990s I wouldn't worry about any "burden". How much ram have you got?

Pico Neo3 Link VR - Windows 11 64bit, Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Elite Mobo, i7-10700KF CPU, Gigabyte RX 9070 XT OC 16gb (AMD GPU), 32gig Corsair 3600mhz RAM, SSD x2 + M.2 SSD 1tb x1

Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)

When I have a question about a given application. I like to first READ THE MANUAL. Before posting.

BTW you didn't answer my 2nd question.

I'm not sure there is one I mean it's a very straight forward utility really, not every thing comes with a manual these days but you could try the website, try discord, try contacting the dev.

No idea if you can run it off another PC, I'm just wondering why you'll need to put a tiny program on another PC to get the "burden" off in the first place, unless you've got 8gb RAM and struggle to run the OS then I fail to see why you need to run it from a second PC...!

Yes you can run it on another computer just use the ip of the main computer and use the port 8086 in this format. if you mean the main program, then no.

http://127.0.0.1:18086/

and about the manual, open Sky4sim app and click help -> show online documentation.

Spot on, you have to launch the server on your MSFS box but then I launch a browser on a tablet for the moving map and client app.

You've already had your question answered but here's the manual anyway.

This is exactly what I was looking for. Right there in the beginning of the manual!

Open Sky4Sim Pad in a web browser

The last element of the General Tab is the link to open Sky4Sim Pad in your web browser. Using this link you will be able to access the Sky4Sim Pad from your default web browser. It can be useful if you prefer to run Sky4Sim on a second monitor instead of using it from MSFS in-game panel.

This Sky4Sim utility (payware) tends to be useless if you can install the following addon from Flightsim.to for free:

https://flightsim.to/file/43086/little-navmap-vr-panel

Little Navmap (long time friend and freeware, even if it's payware quality) should be first running in the background.

Just my opinion.

Cheers, Ed

sky4sim is freeware, Sky4Sim Pad NG – Free

You can donate if you like or upgrade to premium which really is unnecessary as it only adds a few additional functions.

Thanks for the reminder. I barely remember if I paid for it in the past or not, it looks like I did, but don't have any record

Just an update for everyone. It appears that you can run Sky4sim on a second monitor on the same computer. But, not on a second computer. I can't get Sky4pad to install on a second computer. I can't get past the install program looking for the Community folder on the FS2020 computer. Unless someone has a way around that. It appears Sky4sim can only be installed on the FS2020. computer,

As has been covered you have to install the server on your MSFS machine and then you can run browser based client on a second machine...  You don't install anything on the client machine.

OK.

Thanks for correcting me. I'll try it and get back. The server is on the MSFS machine.
