I'm excited to introduce you to my latest project: iFly Schedules - an Airline Flight Scheduling tool!

🛫 What's it all about?

• Generate random flights using REAL route data - we're talking 14,000+ genuine routes! (Route data accuracy might not be 100% as I am not using an API for now.) 
• SimBrief integration
• Currently only featuring 4 airlines (hey, quality data isn't cheap 😉)
• Accept the flights you like and save them to your personal schedule
• Mark flights as completed once you've flown them in your sim

🚧 Alpha Alert! Just a heads up – this tool is still in its alpha stage, which means that there might still be some bugs. We're using cookies to store your flight data for now.

🚧 Changelog v0.2

- New Flight Page: Added a new dedicated flight page for viewing flight details and route maps after clicking "Fly" from the schedule.

- Enhanced Flight Completion Workflow: Instead of toggling flights as completed directly in the schedule, users now proceed to the flight page to view full flight details and then mark the flight as completed.

- Map Integration: Introduced a map feature displaying the flight route with airport markers, powered by Mapbox.

- SimBrief Integration: SimBrief links now appear on the flight page for quick dispatch access.

- UI Improvements: Updated the visual design and layout of flight cards and the flight details page for a more streamlined experience.

This is neat, I like the simplicity of the design and the idea, and I love the idea of a simple line-generating tool (potentially saving as well). As a former crewmember, it's immersive to have a line that you bid/build and fly in sequence, so if that's what you want to do it scratches an itch.

In terms of data - are you using live sources? If this could be expanded to more carriers, it could have potential applications that might pay for the data cost through ads/API agreements/etc.

Is there any way you can introduce filters for runway elevation/lengths/ILS and GLS approaches?

Thank you 🙂 The saving does already exist, via the cookie for now. Did you try it?

I am not using live data as of right now. I bought route data a few days ago so the data should be somewhat pretty accurate. That is what I want to look at next but live data, pulling via an API is not cheap. We will see. If you have a request to add a specific airline(s), please let me know.

Glad you like it! It's not planned at this time but lets see. As a pilot when you get your schedule, you don't get to pick these options 🙂

I agree-however for training purposes or practicing challenges that would be useful!

🚧 Change Log - v0.3 Alpha

New Feature: Flight Finder
- Introduced a new Flight Finder page where users can find multiple (up to 10) flights from or to a specific airport by entering the ICAO.
- Users can then select which flight(s) the want to save by clicking on each individual Flight Card(s).
- Saved flight(s) will show under the My Schedule page.
- Other small minor changes & improvements.

Next, I would like to work on adding more data and maybe finding a way to get data in a more cost effective way. This will be the hardest so if you have any idea or data sources, please let me know.

🚧 Change Log - v0.4 Alpha

• Redesigned the My Schedule Page and it's logic. You will now be required to fly the next upcoming flight in the schedule before you can move on to other flights. This ensures flights are completed in sequence,  just like if you were a real pilot 🙂.
• Redesigned nav bar, it is now consistent across all pages.
• Made more code optimization.

Hello all! 

I have put in a lot of work into this project and I believe it is now getting to a really good place. Thank you everyone for your kind feedback on Discord and for all the kind words. 

🚧 Change Log - v0.5 Alpha

• Redesigned the Home page for the Flight Schedule generator. 
  

 

• Made some changes to the form of the Flight Finder page. The dep. & arr. fields will now be separate. Makes it easier to find flights. (Might redesign the Airline Logos selection in the future to make it consistent like the Home page.) 
  
  

 

• The SimBrief icon will only generate when you click Fly on the Schedule page and on the Flight Finder page.
• Tweaked the Schedule page logic where you will first need to fly the up next flight and mark it as complete before being able to Fly the next flight.

easyjet use alpha numeric callsigns, as well as some flight numbers with 4 digits. 

They do not use EZY123, nor EZY321 with only 3 letters.

so im afriad your easyJet data is using the iata flight numbers, and not the correct callsigns.

I'm not aware of a data source, unless you're pulling flight numbers that day, that would give 100% accurate ICAO callsigns. They are randomly generated for lack of dupes, no?

Will still never understand why this is so messed up in Europe. We use 4 digits, operate way more flights, and nearly never use alphanumeric!

they have inputted into the eurocontrol callsign validator to make sure theres no conflict with similar callsigns.  

the reason its "messed up" in europe is because you have 22 member states of easa/eurocontrol all with their own airspaces.  Its not like in america where you have a huge land mass with a few firs under FAA rules.
