Saving control profiles in FSX?

Featured Replies

There doesn't seem to be an option to save various control profiles for different aircraft in FSX like there is in P3D. Is there a way to do this?

Fsuipc is the gold standard for doing this.

You WILL have to do some reading, the pro version is cheap really and worth the cost 10 times over.

If you intend to use fsx for years to come and fly multiple aircraft you will not regret learning this app.

Thanks, I’m thinking of reinstalling for the Level D 767 and a2a stratocruser. I do have FSUIPC VERSION 6&7.

For FSX you need version 4. Version 6 is for 64-bit P3D, and v7 is for MSFS.

Main rig: self built, AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D (with SMT off and CO -50 mV), 2x16 GB DDR4-3200 RAM, Nvidia RTX 5060Ti 16GB, 256 GB M.2 SSD (OS+apps) + 2x1 TB SATA III SSD (sims) + 1 TB 7200 rpm HDD (storage), ID-Cooling SE-224-XTS air cooler, Viewsonic VX2458-MHD 1920x1080@120-144 Hz (G-sync compatible), Windows 11. Running P3D v5.4 (with v4.5 scenery objects as an additional library, just in case), FSX-SE, MSFS2020, MSFS2024 and even FS9! Lossless Scaling for all my sims. What a godsend...

Mobile rig: ASUS Zenbook UM425QA (AMD Ryzen 7 5800H APU @3.2 GHz and boost disabled, 1 TB M.2 SSD, 16 GB RAM, Windows 11 Pro). Running FS9 there .

VKB Gladiator NXT Premium Left + GNX THQ as primary controllers. Xbox Series X|S wireless controller as standby/mobile.

You could always create, save and have different 'standard.xml' control files per plane then swap them in before starting FSX. Would be a bit clunky but one could create batch files to quickly change out the files as needed.

I did the same but for PMDG MD-11/J41/777/747. I already had v4 from before. Couldn't imagine using P3d/fsx without it.

I do have a version4 license for FSUIPC. I will have to reinstall it.

Excellent! Now you're good to go. In case you have AAO, it works also for FSX.

I do that with my FSX configurations, regular flying/bush flying/retro reduced settings flying, etc.  I just do a clumsy, file copy sans batch files.

I may try that with the controls section.
