Screen flickering on cockpit instruments when panning

Featured Replies

Hey all, so I fly airliners a lot on msfs like the pmdg 777/737-900 and fenix a320. I noticed as of late when I pan my camera around i'll get these weird jittery/flickering on my cockpit window edges and panel screens. My specs are the following

Nivida RTX 3060 Laptop GPu 6GB

Intel core I7-12700h processor

16GB ram

2TB SSD

For settings I have my game capped at 30FPS in the NVCP, low latency mode on Ultra and V-sync turned on in game. Also updated on all my drivers. Anyone know how to fix this? Basically when I move the camera fast panels and cockpit windows will like double its hard to describe or is that just how the game is?

not much help but I get this same thing on the cockpit window edges. I have a pretty good system and run everything on ultra. I have yet to figure out a way to stop this. Hopefully someone else knows. For now I've just learned to live with hit

yeah it's the weirdest thing and it only seems to happen when I have my frames capped around 30. my system can run it up to 60 and when I get high frames it disappears. I didn't really notice it until I started playing around with the frame generation mod. I wish I never noticed it because once you see it you kinda can't unsee it. here's a frame from a video I took of the screen panels doing it when you pan the camera fast. at night time the panels will flash like that when you move the camera and during the day it's the window edges like you described.

Does it happen to you ONLY when using FG? I have something similar. The lower the FPS the more it's noticeable for me. I've learned to live with it 😞

interesting screenshot. I don't notice the issue with screen panels only the window edges

Yep...that, and a few other issues with FG hence I never use it and moreover remain surprised by people with high end hardware who trade in best possible visuals for more frames.  But for those w/o the hardware to maintain at least 38-40fps I understand the draw.

It's reduced with TAA, I play on a laptop that has a 165hz monitor and is 2560x1600  and when I use my mouse to move around It's more unnoticeable. When I move around with my joystick It's much more noticeable

Yeah with my specs I get a solid 60 to 70 fps in the main menu but once in game it fluctuates from 30 to 45 so I capped it to 30 in NVCP I also have G-sync enabled and low latency setting in game.

The window edges are more noticeable during the day when flying but at night time it's the panels.

Had a similar problem (plus extremely low fps), but using AMD 7900XT.

Tried everything, then solution has been turning off vsync and freesync. No more flikering when panning, and went from 20 to 40/60 fps again.

How do you turn off freesync? And did you cap your fps? One of the things I don't like about not having a frame limit is the stutters and did you get tearing when turning all that off?

I have AMD card so it's different than yours, on mine with adrenaline control center, i've set:

AMD freesync: off

V sync: OFF both in drivers panel and ingame.

AMD optimized syncronization: ON

If i set vsync or freesync on, i get 15/20 fps, no matter the level of detail i set in msfs.

It drove me crazy, cause with a 13600k and a 7800XT in 2k resolution, medium settings, having 15fps was strange and unflyable, plus that effect as you said while panning.

Then casually turned off vsync and freesync, perfect! No tearing till now (probably cause of amd optimized syncronization).

Try playng with similar settings in nvidia panel. Hopefully some nvidia guy will be more helpful.

Yeah it seems to work better witn g-sync with nividia but then you have the risk of tearing. If I uncap my fps it kinda goes off the walls from being really smooth to laggy that's why I capped it.

Anyone know how to fix this? It's really bad when the frame rate is low. It's driving me mad.
