iniBuilds A320 after AAU3?

Featured Replies

So what's the verdict on the iniBuilds A320 after AAU3?

Edit: Right after I posted this thread, I found a lengthy iniBuilds A320 thread in the polls/feedback forum: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/airbus-a320neo-v2/642546/1055. Oddly enough, I didn't find an in depth iniBuilds A320 thread in the Aircraft subforum at the official MSFS forums.  So I'm not sure if this thread is as useful to me anymore, but feel free to chime in if you want to discuss it here at Avsim.

I'm curious to find out as well. I haven't flown inBuilds A320 since it has been released.

Life time flight sim enthusiast, current airplane owner 172P (past C182F). FAA CP/IR ASEL/AMEL, FI ASEL

My System: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D , MSI X870 GAMING PLUS, 64G RAM, ASUS RTX5090, 4T SSD

Put my hands on (pic/dual/given)

7GCAA, 8KCAB, BE24, BE76, BE35-C33, BE35, C150, C152, C172B/N/P/R/SP, 182F, M20E,M20C, M20J, AT6(SNJ4), PA28-140,PA28-151, PA28-161,PA28-181,PA28RT-201,PA28R-180/201T, PA24-250, PA32-300R, PA44, AC114, YAK-18T, YAK-52, SR22

I flew it twice, both with FSHud as ATC. However, the first flight was with FSHud 1.3 stable and AAU2. Last night I had 2.0 alpha and AAU3. Obviously, there was a big performance improvement, but how much of this was due to AAU3, I can't tell.

Main rig: self built, AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D (with SMT off and CO -50 mV), 2x16 GB DDR4-3200 RAM, Nvidia RTX 5060Ti 16GB, 256 GB M.2 SSD (OS+apps) + 2x1 TB SATA III SSD (sims) + 1 TB 7200 rpm HDD (storage), ID-Cooling SE-224-XTS air cooler, Viewsonic VX2458-MHD 1920x1080@120-144 Hz (G-sync compatible), Windows 11. Running P3D v5.4 (with v4.5 scenery objects as an additional library, just in case), FSX-SE, MSFS2020, MSFS2024 and even FS9! Lossless Scaling for all my sims. What a godsend...

Mobile rig: ASUS Zenbook UM425QA (AMD Ryzen 7 5800H APU @3.2 GHz and boost disabled, 1 TB M.2 SSD, 16 GB RAM, Windows 11 Pro). Running FS9 there .

VKB Gladiator NXT Premium Left + GNX THQ as primary controllers. Xbox Series X|S wireless controller as standby/mobile.

So far only 3 flights, but what I noticed right away is the drastically improved performance. Now it is on par with WT B78X, noticeably better than PMDG 737, far ahead of Fenix.

And it is nice to have the terrain radar.

I have flown 2 flights so far and this is my conclusion. Please note my experience may differ from others.

1.   Performance and systems have improved vastly. Updated integration with the EFB/Simbrief flight plan import has improved with all available info now loaded directly into the MCDU. However, I have found that the flight path vectoring (magenta line) is calculated incorrectly when the first waypoint is in the opposite direction of the takeoff runway. A parallel vectoring is calculated until the abeam the airport and then resumes direct-to navigation to the first waypoint. This happens when no SID is selected.

2.    The engine sounds no longer have that deep growl when starting up and fuel flows into the turbines. Instead, a very annoying whining noise is noticeable when starting the engines, taxiing and during cruise. Personally I preferred the "old" sounds.

3.   The Final App path when flying an RNAV approach is broken. The aircraft oscillates up and down constantly and takes a distinct nosedive when crossing the final approach fix. This happened on both flights at different airports. Before the update the aircraft flew RNAV approaches like it was "on rails" which made it very easy to control.

Again, my experience may differ.

Have a good day folks!

Make sure post this feedback on the official MSFS forums as well.

IniBuilds also takes feedback on their Discord.

The panel lighting at night now doesn't work. (Floodlights)

Just reinstall delete the inibuilds A320 Asobo from the official folder... then the next time you startup it will install a fresh A320 (could solve some corrupt or missing files)

No, the flood lights being broken is a known issue. that won't fix it.
