If the RTX 5090 is $2299, you still buying one?

Rumour is there may be only two desktop GPU manufacturers Nvidia and Intel in two years, maybe sooner.

Source?  I heard the exact opposite, AMD and Intel have two new GPUs that came up in a few benchmark tools … with nVidia moving entirely to providing AI hardware exclusively.

For Intel:

Sorry can’t read your post all these Ads are covering it 🙂

I would consider a 5090 when/if they came down to about $1000, otherwise just not worth that much more money for better RT performance over 4090.  The 5090 can still only do 13 fps in Oblivion with maxed out graphics settings.

But with the current idiotic situation with US tariffs and the “we vs. them” mentality, I’ll have UK/EU friends purchase and ship to me … still needs to come down in price given how the 50 series GPUs are plagued with software and hardware problems.

You'll need to provide ALL your OR settings and it is location specific.

Actually I don't think I will.

Over the years, I've been down this rabbit-hole an embarrassing number of times, where I post information, only to have more proof demanded and I end up doing a lot of free work until eventually I'm being asked to provide my shoe and underwear size.

When I finally balk, the other participant then says something along the lines of "See, I knew you were lying."

Bleh.

Having been through that multiple times here, I'm not interested in going down that particular road again, so you're on your own from here.

I will leave you with this, though. I spent some time doing some research on people having framerate problems in this game, and a common observation was that Unreal 5 games are very ram hungry and have problems with only 16GBs of ram. Apparently the game fares much better with 32gb of ram, and my system has 64gb.

I also suspect it will eventually be found that there are loading issues because even on a fast SSD the game stutters badly when first booting up, and then steadies out when the game actually starts.

Good luck.

Fair enough, but you posted the screenshot, not me … never suggested you needed to go down any road.

The issue is RT on particles when RT is set to highest depth setting.  OR is not the on game that will bring a 5090 to it’s knees, Diablo IV with RT at max depth on particles will do the same to a 5090.  But as I suggested depend the location and if particles are being rendered.

I've received my 5090 and my new rig is complete. Just downloading some games and software onto it. The little bit I've ran MSFS it seems impressive, but everything is far from being installed on my new PC.
