October 23, 20241 yr Hi all I like flying with the Map Mod for MSFS. I think it gives crisper textures in the distance, better mountains and an all round nicer flying experience than default. However, one downside is that the terrain seems to be varying colours, with light and dark patches . I guess the default sim does a good job of evening all the colour transitions from one area to another so you don't notice anything. Is there anything I can do to lessen the problem? I usually fly with the Bing setting, although I find Google has the same issue. Just a case of live with it if I want to use the mod?
October 24, 20241 yr Just s case of live with it. I am using the mod too and see it quiet regularly. Bing or Google both show these differences in palette (in the same area). I actually found it better without the Enhancer though ;) Edited October 24, 20241 yr by Adamski_NZ

October 24, 20241 yr Photogrammetry areas are not influenced or affected by the Map Enhancement, so in these areas it will always be differences in colouring or patched sections. For sure, I'm living with it, not a big issue for me. I'm also using the latest Bing maps. October 24, 20241 yr It depends what world region you fly. And how high you fly. In the States both Google and Bing are trying to update maps as soon as possible. This gives that terrible color difference. Much better is in Europe SE Asia and Japan are nice. The lovely Thailand has absolutely consistent tiles.
