This why I love MSFS: marginal VFR

Featured Replies

The flight is outrageously short. 5 miles, 2 min with my C172 if flying straight-line 😉 I just did a detour to manage the weather: shall I continue? What is my plan B, my plan C... etc... I love simflying this way to stay current with my VFR skills and train with Foreflight on my iPad.

I love spotting planes while I'm holding short:

Look at the windsock while I'm lining up 16L à Seattle Tacoma KSEA:

Immediate right turn after departure to head north, joining above the right downwind:

I have enough resource to look down and enjoy boat trafic from GAIST:

Double sided picture: left side is free of VFR. I should better turn right 😉1If3XEP.jpeg

Double side again. Left side, the city (and the Space Needle of Seattle). Right side; the sea.

On final, perfect position to make a mistake. Is that Boeing field or Tacoma? Or the other way around? I remembered this real flight coming from Tofino and the briefing was explicit. Don't mix with the Bravo of Seatle and don't take the one for the other or head to Tacoma believing it's Boeing Field:

Time to pick-up my next Boeing 😉

Great shots and really nice atmosphere and weather depiction. What mods are you using for the 172 here?

In the PNW, that is pretty good VFR for this time of year!

What a great post! Really captures those changeable skies.

Lovely shots Vincent, and to think we're just about to get an upgrade for all this. And this is pretty amazing already!

Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. Sims in use - 2020, 2024, XP-12 and -11, FSX/SE, P3Dv4.5 and v5.4. DCS and AFS2 installed but rarely used

Wonderful post...surely, it all means lot more to you as a RW aviator...🙂...than the rest of us...

Nice to see those Alaska planes...Be careful among the big birds flying around there...

Agree, low-level marginal weather in MSFS is quite real-life like...
